All over not thanks a call and -- -- earning season not kick off of the Alcoa report tonight Keith springer is here he's looking keep this for a pop in the market.
Just not right now president of aspirin -- financial joins us author of facing Goliath had a triumph in the dangerous market ahead and gotta wait awhile for this market to go back up for what.
But I just a little while right now what kind of in the doldrums -- -- summer doldrums get as a few disappointments probably gonna come out.
I expect -- color probably be neutral but we've had a trend Connell that.
You know the last few years we've had disappointing expectations and then earnings have been better than expected so I don't expect that that change at all I think.
And Republican and eleven better than what people think rush to -- a little bit higher a lot of the -- is probably behind a -- for the time being.
And you know this much negativity out there that I think the markets probably just do for -- -- this point.
It is interesting because you do think that earnings from our companies are -- tonight in others the big companies is going to be enough.
To drive the market higher -- I was just thinking during your comments there that we're not all these other factors that we brought up just this hour alone we've talked about.
Politics this fiscal cliff the president's talk about the tax cuts and whatnot in this hour we talked about China.
You know we've talked about Europe we've talked about the possibility of a huge banking scandal the sparkly -- grows but you think still the earnings.
Well it's the earnings coddled but it's a -- great questions but.
Largely the market gets killed normally.
Based on something surprised when as a bit surprised that for the market goes down seems like a lot of the stuff was on the table -- -- we know Europe's amass.
The fiscal cliff will probably be solved I would expect with the Eric you know extension.
-- the tax problems so I think a lot of those probably going to be put behind us and I think there's going to be sort of a sigh of relief.
Doesn't mean the economy's getting better doesn't mean everything's rosy it's just more of a sigh of relief -- I think earnings are gonna push the market -- -- higher you know get your political more excited.
You know and and what you get past the election I think people are going to be sick and tired of the candidates yelling at each other what -- get closer to the election past that.
Then that we should have a little bit pop on the market as well.
They may be sick and already the professional investors you know and and -- one they often do you make comments like that where they say.
-- because we talk about these -- minute by minute you know how they weren't gonna come up with a deal and in -- in -- China gonna fall off a cliff fully think.
A lot of times you make assumptions you're making an assumption that yet for all this back and forth they'll get all that stuff figured out they'll figured out whatever -- deal is.
For all they're screaming yelling it at each other they'll come together and they'll make a deal so.
You could be wrong by the way maybe this is the time you're wrong that we really do fall of some sort of fiscal cliff what odds would you put on that very well.
-- not very very low -- I mean of course I'd like to think that I've never wrong but.
They're gonna come there probably extend the the -- fiscal cliff supposedly for another year I think both sides wanna do that China we know is slowing down again -- a surprise that really kills the market.
And you know it investors really need to be safe I mean you know the invest for need not for -- approach.
Really is what investors want to do here that put other dark in the table.
You don't you don't wanna buy justice market -- for the safer stuff what does that mean and give us an idea as we wrap things up Bob -- you know doesn't have to be.
What everybody else wants to do depending on -- what -- Muhamed summits risk they wanna take or whatever but what are you buying right now.
Well for our clients we typically like to go a little bit less -- like income like dividends -- like MLPs corporate bonds.
High dividend paying stocks.
You know -- terra nitrogen is a big buy out there with a good yield some of the MLPs look really attractive I think investors just need to not take.
All the risk of the market if you don't need all the -- -- and why take the chance of getting killed if you don't need to aren't Keith springer thank you very much sir.
-- come into the -- again.
