Not I want to bring in former Republican congressman from Pennsylvania Bob Walker.
NBC's Bob we've seen a job numbers you've hurt Mitt Romney what's your take on all the news this morning well again.
Obviously it's very bad news for the country's very bad news for the president I think Mitt Romney yeah I get it right on the head.
What he said that what we need to have his growth oriented policies that sure.
That we can produce jobs in the future and he has outlined I think a pretty.
A comprehensive program in the I think I would add to that is I think we -- -- bring down the pre depreciation schedules.
So that people would go up by a lot of new equipment which sure would feature of the advances of the new economy.
Bob you know I gotta tell you had Tom -- just made the point that the Mitt Romney looked a little bit though lackluster -- sounded tired and you know he was and that's really specific about his agenda other than to imply.
That he would have high taxes and a lot of regulations.
The do you get the sense that he's going to be capitalize off of this kind of -- because I can't tell yet.
It didn't look forceful I mean that's good disappointing this did.
Terrible number.
And and that it did it felt like Mitt Romney stated that middle -- And and didn't really have to sort of passion about -- that people say is missing.
Well I think he's probably a taking a little bit of vacation and does so what is -- in the heat of the political battle right now but I think what these numbers do.
Is -- begins to firm up in the minds of the American people exactly where we are in this economy how much this president's failed.
And that will be something that Mitt Romney will be able to capitalize on.
Over the next several months I think that these numbers are very important because they come at a time when an awful lot of Americans are making up their mind about the fall and they're not gonna be changed.
Give a congressman I think that's a key point right there is that the independents are gonna make up their mind and they're looking for.
A plan they know what the president's plan is is that the united instead -- the bumper sticker Wal-Mart of you want more of the same.
But but a lot of people on the right are concerned about the fact the Romney needs to come out swipe -- Well I'll I would agree that I think that he needs to be more specific in other things that he's saying.
About his plan now -- so far we have dealt in broad generalities I think specifics are very very important because I think the American people are really looking at for a plan that will work.
In the upcoming months and they wanna know.
That in January -- that Mitt Romney can hit the ground running.
And could put into place a plan to very very quickly that will drive the economy toward more growth than -- I think the specifics of that plan are important to people and it's something that they campaign needs to of put in place.
Bob Walker thanks a -- we appreciate your expertise this morning.
Sure -- with you.
