Are protected from risk and are generating growing returns joining us now in a Fox Business exclusive from Grand Rapids is Brian Salerno manager of the Huntington ecological strategy ETF.

People mentioned Brian.

Environmentally.

Sustainable their eyes glaze over they think green you're saying that's not what this fund is about explain what gets a stock into this fund.

A -- it's.

Something that has hampered green investments in the past is that.

Sometimes funds that invest in green have been a little bit too speculative in the names that they choose.

This fund is not about speculation it's about finding good business models that are all tied together with one common theme.

Good environmental stewards how -- -- -- find good environmental stewards and growth opportunities are also just good citizens of planet.

Define that get into it does this mean that they're saving water in their production of paper -- -- -- pull -- a couple of companies and talk about what gets in here because as we look at some of your.

Most widely -- names.

You've got everything from Disney TE -- -- Two a couple of others that you just say in -- Johnson & Johnson I mean I wouldn't think of that as an environmentally sustainable company why is it -- there.

Actually Johnson Johnson is a clear leader in sustainability.

As is -- game and has is Disney.

-- people don't realize it because the companies don't beat their chests about it.

But behind the scenes for a number of years these companies have been doing everything they can to minimize environmental footprint.

In their own business they're incorporating environmental stewardship.

Into their own operating DNA of how they operate their business so a company like eBay who focuses on.

In there they're -- in the futures to be the the commerce engine for retailers.

Sustainability is one of the factors they -- to help retailers manage in the future.

What I find interesting is that you're looking at companies that can take advantage of this eliminates what you say has some of the risk out there these are companies that can take advantage.

Of changing laws we know that the EPA's constantly changing its metrics of what certain companies have to adhere to.

Is that part of this issue where you look at that say okay.

-- so let's deal is doing something in some way shape or form that is gonna protect them.

-- absolutely.

In a regulation.

Tends to go in one direction over time it gets tougher and tougher and tougher.

And companies that are protected themselves by being better citizens by being better stores by thinking about the ways they.

Run their business and making sure they're they're harming as little less possible -- are helping as much as possible.

They are naturally protecting themselves from future -- Well -- acting -- regulatory McCain is up 63% year over year whole foods up 48% I'm not sure that that has much to do with their sustainable business but will never know so what's working.

For -- fund which actually just launched on the twentieth of June.

Are -- distinct competitive advantages.

Between those names and perhaps less environmentally friendly countries companies rather.

Well yes but it's it's just to make -- and I believe over time and greener product -- services.

Are taking marketshare from the conventional or the incumbent.

Brian Salerno was the manager of the Huntington ecological strategy ETF.

Launched on the twentieth of -- it's already up one point 67% that's that's the closest we could get to see its performance but we wish you good luck thank you.

Thank you is at a time.
