Hi Nicole and got its -- tried doubts -- is a senior fellow at the Hudson.
Institute tell formerly he was that the Health and Human Services Department Reuters deputy secretary of he's joined us many times over the last.
Well over the last few years to talk about health care so I know -- probably disappointed with the ruling today.
But tell us why tell us why this is it a victory that more people will be insured.
They know the CBO's looked at -- of the deficit will come down all items we've been all over so many times it goes in favor the president wasn't a bad thing.
-- a little think it's a good thing for the American people -- The U what you're gonna have is cost gonna go up premiums are gonna go up.
That CBO score is an old score before they got rid of the class act which is a -- a long term an insurance act that.
Propped up the numbers for a short time in in the interim periods and you're gonna see employers drop coverage -- like 30% of employers -- dropping coverage so.
I don't think the American people are going to be happy with the results.
Of the Obama health care law when it's fully implemented.
The good news though.
Is we still have a political opportunity to stop this thing in that is the November election and I think governor Romney understood talking -- -- it's gonna talk about repeal and replace.
He well he'll talk about that place should speak any minute now from what we've heard from the Romney campaign wants the he speaks will break away and we'll we'll take it lives on congressman cantor.
By the -- majority leader in the house says that set a date to vote on on a repeal of health care so that will happen now they're saying now July 11 self.
Two minute passed out of the house the question is what happens in the senate senator thune told us earlier he thinks that they can probably do it with 51 votes remains to be seen in terms of how the senate works whether it's 51.
Or sixty on this particular on the repeal.
Of a law like this -- about your earlier comment about premiums so I don't use of the CBO score was old but the CBO Congressional Budget Office and looked at cost and they said if the -- was a limited which has not been.
If it was a limited at sixteen million fewer people.
Would be insured.
And premiums if you -- to be eliminated would go up fifteen.
20% of you run different numbers are done a different study.
I think what they're saying is that the premiums regard even more if the man they were eliminated in an -- I was not hoping for the -- just itself to be eliminated.
I think the whole lot has to go down because I think the -- itself.
Would have -- Premiums if you had the -- eliminated in the line place I think that would have made it even more unsustainable but I think it's unsustainable as it is.
And I think -- a couple of years even if they don't repeal it in the short term and -- get a couple years this is gonna have to be revisited.
All right so and well it'll be revisited and I guess a lot of this hinges on what happens obviously what happens in November it'll be revisited.
He pretty soon on July 11 but then that that that will work -- passed the November election are you willing and kind of able to say hey make a prediction right now that this thing will be.
Repealed.
-- certainly on the July 11 vote him and I -- view -- council will vote to repeal it but I don't think that would get past president Obama's.
Veto even if it got through the senate.
But November is is not that long the way and -- governor Romney has made a big deal about repealing and he's -- that is important plank of his campaign.
And I think the American people will seeing the November election as -- the last chance.
To either ratified or overturn the Obama health care law they know that this will be in their hands is not -- -- the Supreme Court.
It's gonna be if the American people.
That's the politics of attack coming up it's no doubt -- a victory today the president will talk about it for him.
But some have argued that longer term it could be a political positive if Mitt Romney can make that argument in November we'll see Teddy thanks to Detroit.
