Welcome back to foxnews.com -- I'm Robert Gray with the Fox Business Network.

It is summertime you know may not feel like it in some parts the US here but.

This always brings a little bit of a dilemma for some people anyway as to what you can and cannot Wear to the office surprisingly.

You'd be surprised at some of the things people will try to -- to where we're gonna bring in Chris Mets are right now this senior associate dean from.

Georgetown university and thank you so much for joining us Chris and I clearly.

This is more -- an issue I think for our young people -- -- then maybe it did Georgetown or other universities in India very relaxed.

You know -- -- if you will.

And it certainly transitioning to the office it's hot outside you're starting in some are you're doing an intern ship here.

Less the sort of review here how big of an issue has this become is it really that big an issue in corporate America today.

Yes it is because when summertime comes apparently.

People forget.

This idea of how to -- and so what they generally.

And up are coming into the workplace -- is how can I put this kindly.

What we try to do is let people know that just because -- that some are.

You still should keep quite a bit of your business to yourself.

-- column and and so that's really the problem and a lot of corporation.

-- in a lot of cases if people come in with these flip flops and on their toes are not quite what you'd want to people to see.

-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- you should avoid the flip flops them in if you want to Wear.

-- -- women for example want to Wear some comfortable flats of something along those lines that certainly fine but flip flops or a definite no no.

In the workplace and as it relates to linen in particular I'm while it may look good good good.

You come into the workplace looking a bit rumpled kind of like you've just pull that out from under your bed.

On the -- so you might not want to do that that's really add anything that's seen through.

That just avoided altogether.

Yet but should go without saying but you know what it but it still happens right death and yeah.

I guess it also shorts and tank tops again should go without saying you know in in less maybe you know you don't internship we out of body shop or something.

Yeah you know that that that's right and and one of the once but it didn't sensitive.

You know that -- there are some people who believe that it's okay to Wear.

A bathing suit of some sort to work.

If they just kind of cover -- up with us Iran but again.

You're -- work this is not the -- I understand that you may be going to the beach after but that's not appropriate and certainly.

It it won't get you hired very quickly and bring a duffel bag -- -- -- we've got some examples of what to Wear not to Wear.

And us some of my colleagues -- are gracious enough to did to this part because forest.

You know the after looks a whole lot better just in terms of being -- and a lot more presentable a lot more press the shorts.

No you really don't -- to Wear those to work so certainly the after looks now fantastic and it's a 100%.

Of an improvement from the before him have to -- on to take the flip flops -- this khakis today though.

Yeah credit I'm -- -- -- -- I think delicate cabin here at Kevin's clearly been to see the avengers.

Recently there I believe in these guys Captain America T shirt on.

So avoid any of those rents coming into the workplace.

-- you really don't want to do that it's great that you -- to see the avengers it's great that you went to Disney World but frankly in the workplace we don't care -- what about certain n.'s Chris and don't wanna step funny but did the same time as some of the new media shops -- -- You Mark Zuckerberg out there and a hoodie you know addressing corporate America -- and Wall Street investment bankers.

These days.

Yeah -- those rules not apply are they just being bent out of shape a little bit.

-- they're being bent out of shape a little bit plus say -- you -- Mark Zuckerberg you make your own rules and so.

That's just remember I guess it whether you're the billionaire or the -- is that the key here is that they didn't take a look at that.

-- that is absolutely the key -- because he certainly can do that but.

Found someone who was trying to get a job certainly can't do that because it will be remembered idols live on to the ladies here we've got Maria with them before and after here.

Yeah the before a bit too casual.

They're really not the kind of thing that you want to have in in the workplace the after.

Fantastic.

The will -- -- well presented.

Really looks like gosh she's coming to work to make an impression and so it is an absolutely fantastic after.

The before avoid at all -- -- -- get nickel lead in here as well it the before and after again.

Quite -- contrast.

Yet the tube top not so much that I'm with the could still.

That but but but again the the after is a significant improvement because what it shows to the point of personal a branding as as the as -- -- -- was saying.

It's critical to understand that you are in fact -- brand in the workplace.

Com and I teach students who are.

Studying for a master's degree in human resources for example and one of the things that we always talk about is you as your personal brand and -- clothing and a tire.

Absolutely fantastic.

If it's done correctly if not.

It will make a lasting impression and it's the kind of impression you don't want to have that may come back to haunt you Chris -- -- they don't say much for joining us he's.
