Demand senator out what is the reaction.
It among -- Republicans in the in the congress about the president.
Changing the rules regarding deportation.
That's a good way to put it the constitutional approach to changing laws is for congress to pass them in the president too.
Execute them so part of this is a process problem where the president.
Arbitrarily decides not to enforce some of our -- just as he's done with.
Defense of marriage and some other things where he circumventing congress such as his -- so we're concerned about the process.
But I think the that the goals of finding and humanitarian solution to those who were brought here.
My parents years ago.
Is something I think we all support we've been working on but what we just need to separated from this process of a temporary solution.
That gives no one any certainty.
But let's remember the reason we have this problem today -- was so many illegal immigrants in our country and the children they brought with them.
Is it for decades.
Several administrations have chosen to do just what this president did.
Is ignore part of our law.
And allow our borders to be open and we've created the problem ourselves and now we have to figure out how to solve it but we need to do it the right way.
Not by just thus setting the loss side for a certain class of people.
Yep but -- did you know you live in the world of politics do -- the -- -- -- political reality is is I topple earlier this week you may have seen it as well that said that.
This was very popularly received by the people in this country -- that pull Liz says subsequently been.
Question about the validity and about though about the waiting -- but but.
But does this make Republicans.
Look bad if they fight against this this close to Election Day.
Well do we need to fight the process and that is we we think is unconstitutional.
And would we see that in a lot of what the president is done.
But we need the American people -- know that we are very much for immigration America brings in about a million legal immigrants every year.
There many aspects of our economy that can be improved -- Folks who come -- contribute to the American economy.
So Republicans do have the task of making sure naturalized American citizens know that we support.
Immigration but we support having a legal process.
That we can control.
And I think most Americans want that I know they do they want us to have control of our borders.
They want employers to have a tool like.
I don't think it's fair to say that naturalized American citizens.
Are in big supporters of illegal immigration that's just not true.
And we need to -- our heritage of -- immigration.
That's what Republicans wanna do and hopefully after this election we can get the politics -- of this.
It insolvent the right way time we need to remember that the president.
Had two years his first two years in office was super majorities in the house and the senate Democrats.
He could have fixed this immigration problem exactly the way he wanted to.
Instead he's waited to the last few months and make it a political issue instead of trying to solve the problem.
Well it it we talked before about -- senator about the the Republicans and their lack of messaging.
Is this going to be something that we're going to see Republicans -- a message and try to reach out to immigrants in this country to say we're Whitfield.
Yeah I'd definitely because we are what what immigrants -- -- same thing at all Americans want the they want freedom jobs opportunity.
And that's what the Republican Party is all about and I think what we need to do is inspire all Americans with the idea.
-- that we can do this we can rebuild our economy we can create prosperity.
Like we've never done before.
But we can't do it with this top down central planning model that this president has put in place yeah I think what -- It's blacks or Hispanics or women are all Americans.
We just want opportunity and freedom in and that's what we need to sell to the American people.
Do you believe that the president acted because senator Marco Rubio was about ready to unveil his -- -- Well the I think so I think the president -- that Marco Rubio was trying to put together.
A Republican and Democrat coalition the working with immigrants all over the country he was doing at the right way with legislation.
And so instead of letting up process actually work and it was very close to working.
The president decided to try to pull -- political stunt and to change the subject and he's trying to change the subject from jobs in the economy.
Whether it's student loans are forcing Catholics to pay for contraceptives and we we're we expect this almost every week from the president.
Because he can't talk about his record so I definitely think -- Marco Rubio.
Pushed him because Marco was trying to do this the right way.
Howard.
You've heard the criticism that.
Congress has been emasculated death of the imperial presidency every president's taking more more power.
Away from you in the -- -- in the congress in the senate and the house.
Down -- ice it in interest -- example of course is fighting back regarding the Justice Department what is.
What is the planned to Friday keep the presidency from taking away -- any power to become.
You're exactly right this president has gone beyond any that I'm aware of in circumventing congress circumventing the constitution.
I think it's frightening a lot of Americans and hopefully -- Supreme Court.
Will stop -- and put us back on the right course.
Alright senator Jim -- always good to talk to you thank you so much.
Thank you tell you bet there's.
