What do you make about discrepancies yeah.
Well I think it's pretty pretty clear search from the -- Bureau of Labor Statistics numbers here that the Obama recovery -- slow growth.
Has been better for foreign born workers and for native born workers -- -- actually get higher unemployment and -- among foreign born back in January 2010 unemployment peaked.
Is up at eleven point 8% for foreign born then.
Ten point three for native born but it struck much faster for formal.
You know actually -- what pundits may be 800000 people affected what does -- due to this that this difference between.
Foreign born on employment and native born on employment.
What we don't know how many of those folks may already be working illegally clearly some of them are bad -- Bureau of Labor Statistics when they talk about foreign born workers to do not distinguish between legal and illegal.
Son that's seven point 4% unemployment that's for all foreign born workers together.
But you have to believe that if you -- a new group of foreign born workers into the potential workforce.
That -- that's gonna drive down employment for native born workers and 11 step that would demonstrate that -- a labor force participation rate.
Foreign born workers are more likely to participate in the labor force which means they have a job or -- actively sought a job in the last four weeks.
The native born workers -- Ironically.
You know if the trend holds agency in the Bureau of Labor Statistics data if you put these -- in the position where they can get a job.
They're more likely to gotten -- that an American is right now a native born American.
But what do you make of this from -- -- -- to the news just came in today I believe that Asians.
Now make up the fastest growing group all of the immigrant population.
More Asians coming in than Latinos.
What does that do for the relative unemployment rates if anything.
Well first saw -- I'm gonna assume that the -- coming largely.
Coming in legally a lot of people coming -- from Latin America are coming in illegally.
And I suspect that they're gonna -- all the different segments in the US economy in terms -- employment.
And you look you know people want to come to America.
Because this is land of opportunity they think they can find jobs here clearly if you're gonna come here all the way from Asia you're coming here because you want to get a job.
And I think this -- one of the things we seen the American economy today.
Borne out by these labor participation rate statistics.
-- -- Americans are getting discouraged.
Some people have simply given up trying to go out and find work.
I -- entrepreneurial side just -- people unwilling to risk their money.
-- create jobs and I think that we don't wanna see that sort of psychological change in the American people we want immigrants coming in who want to compete.
Who -- -- create jobs and wanna find jobs but we also want the native born have that's your -- and right now we seem like relief is an attractive.
