Us now from Capitol Hill congressman Ted Poe executive member of the Immigration Reform Caucus also on the Judiciary Committee and foreign affairs committee.

Criminal defense attorney Fox News legal analyst -- -- dollar.

And attorney Alberto Ricardo announced the White House today for a meeting with Homeland Security secretary -- and Apollo Apollo.

Other administration officials about.

All that is transpired since last Friday.

I was so let me begin about her with you are you now impressed with what the administration has done here.

And there -- ready to give it -- full.

-- full throated voice of support.

Support I'm not sure yet I will say this that they've got.

Some legal authority that they are convinced they've got in terms of selective enforcement of our loss I'm not sure that that's the case I believe congress bears responsibility.

And when congress tells you and that you cannot do something doesn't mean you can go back and do it indirectly or directly.

And I've I've really have some hesitation there I think there has to be of long term solution rather -- the short term political fix.

-- congressman -- What is your what is your assessment of both the the effort by this administration to change policy by it appears to many by fiat.

Rather than in concert collaboration and with of the United States -- And a question about our immigration system is a mess we have to fix it but that's congress is -- -- stability so the president has decided by imperial edict.

That he doesn't.

-- really approve of the law so he issues this memorandum saying I am going to ignore the law because I don't like he can't do that it's a violation of the constitution.

We all learned in ninth grade civics.

Congress passes -- law the president supports the enforce the law no matter what it is and he's not doing man.

Are the -- here chuckling here well begins.

It's it's you start it here because we use the word did imperial and is a great book -- -- -- imperial presidency.

And it tracks the history of the president and -- -- become an imperial presidency and one of the big tools that they use all these executive orders we all know.

Again -- -- congressman ninth grade UC with -- president any president gets sworn in.

Everything it's one where they do Lou they would have famous place and they sign all these orders either take it apart -- -- past president did or enacting things this.

This is -- short term solution congress does need to make the long term solution.

Executive orders are simply in this instance.

It is a Fiat -- directed to an Apollo on top -- Ordering her to to put in force.

Rather than individual discretion.

General discretion and I guess which -- -- -- it.

Here to me.

Blinding -- obvious violation at least of the tradition of the office but I believe -- Lou even.

The president's supporters are saying this is a short term.

Quick thing until for the it'll at least in the rain remain as -- to visit new consoles and hopefully in Obama -- -- The president does he is reelected and then something different -- my I want each of you to weigh in -- and and out of you next.

I I mean my heart goes out to any president who just wants to violate the constitution for a few months -- I mean I'm I'm I'm trying to be reasonable and adaptive here how might go it.

My heart -- -- they've broken immigration system and and the people that are trying to get in legally.

And look these are kids obviously who did not comment.

With actions of their on the were brought here illegally by their parents we get that what -- -- -- and it really wait wait wait.

You spent a lot of time there in the White House wanna be sure that we were we what you how we weren't you with us you're here.

The fact is if if the ages sixteen to thirty if I do my math correctly these a good portion of the would've been adults.

When they came here certainly voting age let's say eighteen that they would its citizens so you've got a range of eighteen to thirty.

Who would been making some rather serious judgments as adults would they not not children you know with their parents sort of.

I don't know wiping their eurozone as a lot of -- brought all the more up.

They shouldn't have done that but they did and now we've got a problem we're gonna believe that we are gonna have on the welfare rolls are gonna have them.

You know RS tax -- -- its -- and workers at some point.

Do we hold anybody responsible for their actions I mean I'm just curious about -- Oh well we'll get help are now I want -- distractions out and -- I interrupted Obama.

I interrupted you and graciously and I want you to continue with -- it was starting to sound like properties.

Corporate he saw.

Those young people well I crossing I thought there was a pattern about singing but -- look at a if we have a problem and the administration -- -- We're going to selectively enforce laws and we're gonna use our budget the best we can with the resources we've got well I've said this before on your show -- the answer to congress is provide more money.

In terms of their enforcement strategy because they're saying we only have a set number of resources.

We'll provide more money congress that's number one and then tell -- how you're gonna do -- you're gonna raise our taxes -- -- something else.

And you know run the deficit a little bit -- larger maybe I don't know.

But let's talk about the policy the policy that we have in place doesn't work.

We need more visas we need to guest worker program and we've got to do -- you know as well as anybody I mean I -- to turn now to I wanna give her body of search cancer.

Congressman if it.

You your thoughts your response about.

It's still congress' responsibility.

To pass laws we gotta get to the bigger issue and that's whether or not the pro.

-- it can't just when he doesn't like something just issue a new -- it.

What if what he decided tomorrow that because the income tax system is such a mess.

That instead of making everybody paid.

Let's just an excuse everybody under thirty years because the income tax code is just not fair mean what's next from this president -- what laws he's going to ignore.

Is -- the tax structure.

Or is -- something else and that's the problem with this congress has to fix the immigration system it's our responsibility.

It's not the president an election year to just go around the wall and say.

Not this year we're gonna give a pass parliament to censure of requirement turned -- -- the last word here what you're gonna do about a congressman.

What you're gonna do about I hear a lot of big words and some fancy positions.

But what you're gonna do about.

Well it's obvious that congress hasn't done what it's supposed to do.

And we have neglected to do this.

-- -- -- political reasons but the day of reckoning is long past but it is congress -- responsibility but even if congress doesn't exit.

It's still not the president's prerogative to issue an imperial order well.
