Entrepreneurs are told over and over again need your business to have an online presence.

Not just any online presence.

A good -- even -- a great online presence of the people can understand your company and get interested in what ever you might be selling.

They're plenty of guides on how to best navigate you through setting up -- FaceBook account there.

Getting your web sites searchable -- -- us -- he's out there now the besides the obvious there are some other things you can do to maximize your presence.

And -- your company -- not -- is one of those khakis he knows mom business having started to extremely successful startups.

And one of them happens to -- a multi million dollar online ad agency.

He's here today to give us some pointers on the -- obvious things you should be doing.

Alex thank you so much for coming -- -- and having me.

So first stop fat face fat okay -- now a little bit of a rocky road lately with its IPO a lot of privacy concerns.

But you say it is extremely important if you are small business -- Absolutely.

FaceBook you can treat just like a newsletter so the nice thing about FaceBook is if you spend money building a fan page.

You have an audience that doesn't go away -- when -- compared to traditional advertising we spend money to get a click -- -- here site.

Once that click is there if they hit the X button they're gone.

With FaceBook if you spend money building the fan page you can now communicate -- those people over and over again for free.

Build -- relationship but those potential customers and eventually turn them to customers and that's what we've done with that well so how do you advertise on things.

So there's there's one very simple way you buy a flyer so if you just click on the advertising.

Button at the very bottom.

It's a very simple easy to use interface for you create a headline and a small small -- and a picture.

And you can do it two ways one which -- links out to an outside website if you have a website you linked to that.

Or secondly go to a fan page that you create for yourself as a business in just like you have a personal page on FaceBook you can have one for your business as well.

Do you recommend that fan page -- recommend winking -- you're trying strongly recommend that the fan page there the most important thing -- you can do.

Is build the relationship between yourself.

And the customer and the way that you do that is to create a fan page post interest in content.

And once people start interacting with that content.

They're much more likely to purchase here goods or services and so how to advertise on face -- where'd you go and and what exactly just ask you how much you packed.

So -- it it varies there's different advertisers and different amounts of money it all depends on how how likely people are practically cure -- the same same thing with Google of people are.

Politically care.

At a much lower frequency it'll cost you more.

So it's really important to create an engaging -- had.

With an -- -- picture -- if you're in FaceBook if you spent any time there you always the -- -- ads.

And it is the photos that jump out -- you are the ones the year mostly -- likely going to click on.

So that's the kind of that that -- wanna create and so what architects of ads that want to create give me an example so for if Europe.

Steak house in any city you'll want to buy an ad that says.

Do you enjoy eating steak.

And many people do and the -- -- click like if you love steak.

And no you can do with FaceBook -- you can get as targeted as you want -- you can go.

Into a small local market you can target specific people so if you know that your target customers -- male over the age of 35 you target males over the age of 35.

A lot of services that -- -- bridal dresses for example.

You can target people based on their relationship status.

And most people don't stay engaged for too long and if they're engaged -- likely looking for the wedding dress or bridesmaid dresses.

She can actually target people for example that -- -- -- And that'll give -- -- whole audience of people that are looking for your services -- -- photographer here to address manufactured -- a great way to reach people.

And you recommend using companies like.

-- -- guests coming -- off of this so I also boost is a company that I'm an investor and and -- of what they do is they help you build better advertising so they help you understand.

What kind of -- -- should be running so the best way to act understand what ads you you should be running is to see where your competition is running.

It's what they allow you to do is put in a fan page of one of your competitors or somebody that you like a no show you all the posts that that -- has made.

And you'll -- the engagement that one of any of those -- -- so how many likes it received how many clicks it received how many people looked at that act.

Now -- if it's reasonable to assume that fewer business similar to that if you post content that it's like that -- also get the same kind of engagement.

But same kind of want to differentiate yourself from the competition.

Yes but after you get the likes of cash in right so the first thing you need to do Louisiana as the -- -- she needs people to like you and and its feet it.

If they like them it's reasonable for them to -- Q so that's you know it's you you first have to get that audience.

What about twice a first option you say FaceBook -- the most important yes.

Today it is -- five years from now that may change but today it is -- so for us has been the most important Twitter is that important to you so for us Twitter hasn't been agreed to allies I just think that about most small businesses even big businesses they have to pick their strategy and you can't do everything at once.

I find twitters a great tool for following celebrities reporting -- -- following.

Sports.

Celebrity's.

But it's not really a great tool for small businesses to to reach people because you have to.

Be providing interesting content for people to follow and most important thing is you can't get.

I can't spend money to have people follow you like you can with FaceBook so you it's you know I was in a -- this morning it's at what -- the -- said.

Follow us on FaceBook and Twitter I think that -- just pick one and focus their energy day.

And they all important Google yes.

Is that important point is very important I think everybody should be bidding on their names so you know people say I never click on those ads on Google the top two ads and ads at the site and guess what.

Google did about forty billion dollars of revenue last year.

All of that was people clicking on acts so those ads are very effective in just because there is.

You have one listing which is your it's called the organic listings movement by a listing that Google will put their without spending any money.

If you also spend money on your name you get another -- So the more ads you have on that page the more likely it is that people will visit your site how do you get those acts.

You go through its google.com slash AdWords side and it's again it's been -- very it's been simplified to a level where it's.

Easy for anybody to understand you also create there's no image.

The UF DA yet to decide how much you're going to spend so a lot of -- businesses don't now.

If they should spend a hundred dollars 500 dollars whether or not it would really be more effective less effective.

Demand was 25 bucks so you really and you really can't go wrong and and it it's it's all about test so you see.

He spent 25 dollars did I get enough people that went to my site and is there something on the site that is of and -- so if -- think but it dismissing it let's say your dry cleaner.

And you buy an add on Google so.

A person clicks on your -- now there on your site now what.

You should be offering that discount some sort of premium for coming into the store you've already spent that money to get the customer to your site potential customer -- -- site.

Now give them something give them a reason to come into your store.

And that's what you say FaceBook is our effective because once they get to your FaceBook page there's all the different contact -- -- -- How did get on top of that is.

Our Google search -- -- so that's that's Google AdWords and it's it's very simple see you create one tagline and then two other lines of text that described your business.

You bid it's called CPC platform -- -- doesn't sound Templeton.

There you go where.

See you go to google.com slash AdWords and you -- it's if there's a four step process where you create Iraq you choose where you want the -- to appear you can.

Get very targeted to very specific market.

And in each you choose the words that you want your ad to appear on so.

What people search for is where your ad will appear as he will actually enter those search -- -- you have to think.

If I were to try to find my business on Google what what I search for and those -- the search terms that you put in a Google also has a keyword suggestion tool.

So if you think that people find your business based on these words they will give you other words that bill suggest you should bid on.

In order to get additional people to content -- saying you stay on top of just having a domain name you should.

A -- in as many AdWords absolutely off.

If you're a business you want to advertisers in as many places as possible to get potential visitors to your site -- didn't you also say there was a code that you could on your website.

So there's something called Google analytics it's a free tool that enables you to see.

Where -- visitors come from what parts of the country how long they spend on your site what pages they interact with where they're likely to leave your -- You can also test different pages you can get our test different looks and feel of your site.

So it's it's -- free tool that Google offers to website owners to understand better.

If they're site is working or why not.

And what about your web -- in general is there anything that you would say to a small business owner to put on your website to help.

Popular -- at which consumers.

Well.

I would I would say is any any website owner or any business owners and it -- the most in more important thing is to create that relationship -- -- -- -- create -- that relationship is you provide content.

So if you're if you've got to our website about anything.

You should have a blog on that web -- you want people to read that content because if you think.

If you spent money to have somebody come to your site your next goal should be to not spend when he to have someone -- -- side.

If you provide content that's interesting -- -- -- people are most like more likely to return to more likely to subscribe.

To receive -- news letter and email of some sort and that's really the holy Grail getting people to come to your site for free.

So as long as you provide interest -- content on your site that's more likely to happen blogs as a good idea work presses again a free tool.

You can create if it mimics the look and feel and you could have it look beautiful for fifteen bucks.

Alex -- thank you so much for coming and I really appreciate at any time.
