Wall Street right we're joined right now but Peter Bregman the CEO Bregman partners in -- foxnews.com contributor.

And I you advise lots of CEOs about you know how to how to do things had a better their business and most importantly how to run it and not boring meeting where -- -- so enlighten us.

We does some limited actually personal I've sat through a lot of boring media and and I find them excruciating when you've got.

A lot of senior level people fund if I'm with the CEO in the leadership team.

That's a lot of dollars in the room and at one time and -- -- -- two or three -- have two or three days he.

Bright that's a tremendous amount of time and tremendous amount of money and I wanna make the best use of that wire some CEO us or anybody running -- so boring.

Well because what they often do is they want to present.

Themselves they want to put their best foot forward so they do a lot of research ahead of time they.

Create beautiful power -- presentations and then they set up there in the present other businesses are doing.

What's going on what what their plans are for the future -- everybody either nods offer argues with.

And I was telling you in that before the show that when I hear the word PowerPoint and typically.

One a jet out of that meeting -- not go to it all together so boring so so what should CEOs and people running -- do instead -- be dynamic and keep people away.

You know -- that keeping people wake of the good.

Baseline going ahead.

VU -- them the most important thing -- to realize that with all these brains in the room you wanna use them to think.

And I just to listen so -- -- so crowd participation -- the most important thing is to say.

Let's make sure we put some -- on the table that are difficult to solve difficult to figure out and let's get the best minds thinking them through so that we can make decisions for the organization.

Aspect to typically what I'll do and what I've been doing recently.

Is I you know -- and I'm working with the heads of different businesses and CEO and had -- different businesses so what we'll do is we'll have.

The head of one business look into an issue of another business.

So they can you -- that you and I are both -- the meeting instead of you presenting your working me presenting my work.

I will present your work I will go in and look for the main issues and -- -- present what I'm considered to be a question or us an issue that we're facing.

And we'll explore it together as a team because one of the big issues and organizations -- breaking out of Silas.

That's okay if -- an executive.

I can't just to be thinking about my own business I need to be thinking about the entire business and how it relates to your business and -- How it relates to my business and what I'm doing to contribute to the growth of the entire -- but also.

I I don't wanna just be selfish about my business if I have to take a hit in my business to support your business and that's better for the whole company that I wanna be able to make that kind of -- decision.

-- -- -- got a chance to watch but Jamie Dimon the CEO of JPMorgan Chase is on -- hot seat in congress yesterday.

How did he do you know like I didn't actually watch it unfortunately you know kind of executive he is he's you know.

Let's get down to business CEO he he speaks and you listened as you can understand he says right and -- comment -- how do you think his meetings would be.

You know you know again I have -- -- then I have been in his meetings but a but I can't sit right but his.

But the flavor of his leadership -- would bode well.

Meaning his.

Is.

No holds barred let me tell you how I see it right it view is always very useful when -- -- comes -- that you are.

So having meetings -- -- meetings had been replaced by conference calls -- have been replaced by some sort of email home.

-- carriage -- and Japan.

Right.

What I'm finding is that there's a resurgence.

Of senior level meetings and I'm finding is that.

The most senior people in the organization are finding that it's incredibly useful to sit in a room together and figure out my opinion and I mean I'm all about basically means you guys -- like they're disappearing have to become more technology I think they're disappearing more in in a more junior levels of the hierarchy and -- more senior levels.

It's more about let's think together about what we're gonna do my automatically affects us together -- mastermind of the universe coming together right and I think that that's used you know especially since we're so global these days that.

You know it's very very rare that I've been in a senior level meeting where people are flying in from some.

You know global location gray -- that's the way we run our businesses yes.

That's an -- saying.

There -- -- discussing how to take on the world trade -- -- exactly.

-- you know and it's it's some.

It's so easy to lose.

An element of relationship in these kinds of transactions that we do and I'm on the phone -- one email and I don't actually see someone face to face -- it's easy for me to dismiss them.

He has a person.

And I think that one of great things about meetings is that.

I'm connecting with -- you as a person and you're connecting with me as a person and -- builds trust.

And so that when there's an issue that comes up between our businesses I could rely on that relationship yeah in a way that have an email doesn't develop.

I mean sometimes you must get really confusing had to stop sometimes just pick up the phone and talk to some and say okay let's get back on the same page this is -- and typing.

That's exactly right I have a rule which is that it if an email goes back and forth.

Three times or more on never continue -- pick up the phone public -- yeah I like that it's easy to get better at it right well let's put your website everybody can see.

Peter with Peter Bregman Peter Bregman dot com dot com Peter -- -- Peter Bregman CEO other.

Bregman partners consulting company thank you so much for if you can't at a -- of the market dynamics -- -- -- -- and get up the food chain to get that high -- and we can have.
