We're joined the Disco Brothers there Peter and Justin.
The president and product concoction -- From -- -- quite a title there I'd just him but thank you judge gentlemen so much for joining us here.
To talk a little bit about it as we it's move.
To talk about urban by bicycling we've seen a bit of a Renaissance.
In that just in this -- definitely hear in New York City.
Where they've -- bike -- in the past couple years they've -- and it we've seen this happening in London they have the Barclays bikes.
Gentlemen thanks so much for joining us how did you get involved it's a twenty year old brand.
How did you get involved with -- and -- -- -- about where your -- -- taken next.
We're second generation by family so for us growing up in the bike industry it was very natural -- Can have our careers.
And then come back to two cycling.
With -- in particular we're from Santa Cruz which is as well as the Bay Area brand.
And so for us.
It's something that we -- -- to take over the brand from the old owners.
Pete -- wanted to work together as Brothers and -- and here we are.
Yeah and me really really is a homecoming for us we both.
Spent a lot of years in cycling industry well I -- lot of different levels.
Well our bikes are are focused for the urban -- they are internally -- -- fixed -- we have we have a couple different models.
-- -- in our bikes are easy to maintain easy to ride easy you know they're they're really.
You know built for that urban market where.
It's it's not about race and it's just about the last dollar being on -- bicycle.
So our bikes are very you know kind of slide right in -- you don't have to think about -- just jump on and -- him so.
-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- you know I've spoken about in the past year -- something you really are looking to do is to make this say I made in the USA type company you're already doing that with some of the gear.
Talk me about the challenges so of manufacturing the bicycles stateside.
Well it it does the vice.
As it is very big it's become a niche as far as the manufactures its -- -- on demand.
Manufacturing which is great for us we did manufacture the bulk of our bikes in Taiwan.
Which is great however we really started to look it -- -- in the U last because.
Yeah I've made my whole career -- products overseas and for us.
I'm starting to make -- more more products in the US.
Has been challenging however -- it's really rewarding yet and and the contract manufacturers are also very.
Willing to work with us and in even though we're we're worth twenty year old brand were technically a start up again.
We just it sees a lot easier personal leverage that.
It but you know.
It's like every talks about the -- US manufacturing is is on the decline.
Every contract manufacturer we've just we've talked with.
-- -- Yeah it's really hard time that Americans that contract -- back American Dad! yeah yeah all of our apparel is made in the United States -- perhaps we we try to outsource locally if we can.
We found some great contract manufacturers for the apparel you know in Colorado.
And so for us that makes sense it's -- were able to actually go down to the factory were able to know the manufacturer union you know address is crucial yeah it.
And we're also and there I mean where there are opportunities and we're actually pursuing opportunities it to do bicycle manufacturing.
In the US and that's a big goal for just -- deputies US manufacturing what has been.
The biggest hurdle and it was it relocate -- company from.
Physically from California to Colorado is that pretty easy -- in the the via Internet and and things of that nature and and what has been the biggest hurdle to getting the brand back up and going again and in -- literally recycling.
The biggest the biggest hurdle and I think for -- for Justin and we do have a third partner is is.
Finding the time to really focus on this but recently we've -- we've turned the corner and full time on -- now.
Let's you know of the manufacturing was a challenge you know re starting all those.
All those channels not only here in the US but also in Asia.
It takes a lot of time more time -- I think a lot of people realize.
Changing manufactures and you have to go through that whole.
Getting to know than they have to get to know you as well so even even reinventing banks that have -- -- made.
Really was a challenge because we had to have them made in in new facilities so the last year we spent a lot of time.
Basically rebuilding those brands re engineering what was before as -- as coming up with some new stuff.
And -- Justin and clearly new courtship period for your retail partners as well I mean you have some big names out there REI among them.
How difficult was it to reestablish -- -- channels there and is that.
You did you inherit some of these guys are all of them brand new to your team and are you expanding that lineup.
Well we did it -- -- some some bears some interest.
For us it was is -- was rekindling those relationships.
Again this is where we're second generation -- we we know.
Not so much the buyers -- -- -- of the industry people actually that were probably starting up their careers -- we met him and now they're all executives -- -- on the sales side.
It's it's great though because we have -- establish relationship with REI.
We have sport chalet and in California and -- throughout there.
It's been a great way for us to have a start up.
Because -- have established relationships yeah if you're very inward.
It -- it does and they were making some efficiencies.
We got are really insight on how the old what -- -- a process.
He firm locally.
That has freed up our our time you know for us we're able to manage on rebuilding the brand and not.
It has to me that's a professional.
You -- pack our boxes regular you know make sure that every Stan -- -- protocols that we just outlined indeed just very briefly launch date is approaching and will people be willing to go live on -- -- -- buy them online or in in stores.
Yes and so right now we have a pretty pretty substantial list of folks have signed up on the Enola S we'll start offering some product to those folks because they've been.
Real you know.
Patient customer's -- but the site will go launch in about a month.
And I'll be actually hit the road and about fifteen is now down -- out for the rest of the summer yeah driver driving around hit -- -- -- rose.
Show over went what better way over than -- near -- -- -- -- right Peter just idiotic Disco Brothers.
Thank you so much good luck to you a cheque back again when -- -- and -- that's a status of of the made in in the USA bicycles and thanks so much for joining us here.
