Him on winning the Republican presidential nomination but despite his kind words.

The president's negative campaign attacks against Romney may be backfire joining us now to assess the race at this point.

Leading Republican strategist Fox News political analyst Ed Rollins also White House political director under president robbery and good to have you here thank you.

Up so now it is he has.

Governor Romney ready Tehran and he is coming up all all guns blazing the president part and solve -- after salvo.

You have several long it's gonna be the dirty his campaign now we -- it is without question going to be the most expensive what do you make of this new statement.

That we're going to see the Coke Brothers Karl Rove and friends it's put all this money together -- when the congress and the president.

-- -- I am glad they're doing it because obviously we will be outspent as we were last time around spent almost two to one.

But at this time I think it'll be -- money I think the key thing here though is -- along the line it can't be 85% negative advertising.

Somewhere along the line you gotta talk about what you wanna do and I'm sure the Romney campaign will do that is again -- of this thing.

But if it's all negative basically what happens you turned voters off -- -- -- again on the raw base -- people sometimes it backfires on you who and you're the one doing the attacking sometimes the negatives come back on you.

Well the president is already -- attack mode you mentioned governor Romney.

The fact is that it in the backfiring appears to be against the president is.

He's now locked up in what was supposed to been such a bruising primary battle for the governor that the president is now and the one tied up with the challenger.

Because I told you this the problem this is present as you can't run -- record -- records and one of the engine failure.

So he has to basically say you think I'm bad just look at the other guy he's so much worse.

And basically -- I guess I hope our -- is just not things are bad but he made them worse.

I hope at this point in time is we we have a very clear contrast.

This is a guy who basically and he -- Who believe in government who believe in government spending and they believe in government jobs who don't believe much of the free enterprise system.

Or -- -- and talk about this -- not good for the the country suddenly to spend the money that they spend in 2008 the money that -- -- -- goes to this point.

-- governor Romney at least and then that this on the same day the Planned Parenthood launches a million and a half dollar campaign ad attacking governor Romney.

I in his stand on their women's issues as Planned Parenthood obviously what I want half a Planned Parenthood was a non profit what's -- -- All the -- look at him and and what are the issues that are so -- he's pro life has has spent the vast majority Republicans are.

But many of plant and its members are twos I think the key thing here is whatever they articulating on articulate as opposed to just -- -- me.

They brought charges.

Brought charges you said -- governor Romney needs to.

Move beyond attacked ads.

What we you're watching for example in Texas tell us about -- -- -- -- temperature of south Texas -- he's a Republican.

It lieutenant governor do worse basically was overwhelming favorite.

Probably would've won easily if the primary would have been held back -- was supposed to come months ago but because the reapportionment -- a good move yesterday.

Ted Cruz and a good guys solicitor general -- -- job.

Corporate lawyer basically became the darling of the Tea Party is not a Tea Party guy but he became the darling of the Tea Party.

-- -- -- Its establishment candidates spend millions and millions of dollars to one in advertising over.

His opponent the opponent of the grass -- and -- cruise speed of Obama's people claim they've got the ground forces to win this election.

Torture assessed well are are they are they right they do as of today we have five months five and have -- ago and if it's all about television.

Which is good for television but it's not necessary good for getting your vote out.

In a very hard contested narrow collection you've got to have a ground game which means you that it people yet identified -- -- voters are -- temples.

Well there -- questions now about the integrity of the electoral process.

All of what the integrity -- for the Democrats are -- -- voter suppression Republicans are talking about integrity.

It's going to be fascinating to watch we're gonna continue this discussion through the the through the -- -- could see.
