They're laundering with the -- -- is joining us in studio right now.

And that's why -- worried and widely OK so obese people are making up a greater part of the population.

And -- that.

There's a lot of changes that are being -- but many businesses.

Hospitals bigger beds bigger backgrounds.

-- these people even take off more sick days it's adding to health insurance and unions and all that but.

Weren't talk about how they've affected the retail landscape -- You know exactly that and SL and MI and the reason -- They're sort of a lot of buzz right now they're was a recent study released that shows that by 2030.

That percentage of obese Americans will reach 42%.

So that's really a staggering number and that and part of what makes and it.

As such a big topic is that we're estimating that's going to be an additional 550.

Billion dollars in additional health care costs over the next two decades -- this says.

Literally and figuratively and a big issue.

Hard to believe that it can become.

That high a percentage in just eighteen years when everybody and even 7-Eleven has a low calorie slip right now yes McDonald's -- everybody's trying to head it.

Cut calories and fat and ZOK conscious and then.

You're telling me that it's 42% ask don't.

You know that ended guidelines that we've been trying to target as a nation is at 15% -- so we are way -- -- with the problem.

You know I think it's it's it's a number of factors and even in the study that they released and it was discussed by the CDC and there's no one easy.

Answer it's it's -- it's it's a bunch of things but.

Kind of putting all of that aside in being agnostic about the issue as much as we can.

There is a real business opportunity -- and you -- ends you know hospital beds need to be reinforced.

One of them very hot and company that's been getting a lot of press is something called Goliath cast gets.

-- and they make plus sized caskets there's still a lot of you sort of practical pragmatic.

Things that grow out.

Having a large population.

And funeral plots.

You now have to buy two funeral plots to be able to put in that -- -- caskets -- there.

Interesting how businesses are actually benefiting.

Rai from this trend this trend toward it isn't really an unintended I know implants and sometimes it's a plus from Nazis like imagine it's a huge plus for retailers for retailers and -- starting -- C I'm online retailers in particular leading that's on there's a -- -- Web sites there's one called ample stuff there's another one called an oversized solution and -- are both.

Online retailers who are selling products to help obese Americans.

-- mobility is a big issue for a lot of obese Americans were having problems in reaching -- spending simple things like putting your socks on.

That become an issue.

About eighteen didn't -- area that I'm most interested in this fashion.

Because this is the area where there appears to be a really large disconnect so we know the average American woman is a size fourteen and that is now over.

Half of American women half of America how apparent size for yes and average -- in a 165 I just went to the -- -- to yesterday and there was not a size above the sixth grade.

-- an unpleasant I was modeling agencies qualify size six as being a plus size models so this is what I mean there's.

That there's still is a pretty sizable disconnect.

And when you consider if you go to the mall and you look at the stores most stores how to size range of zero to twelve.

And here we have 50% of the population.

Being -- sporty -- and you what's going on and we know that.

On these obese or overweight Americans control about 28% of the purchasing power.

But where they shopping and I shouldn't that number is very under represented because I think that there's a lot of dollars in just go once.

And -- honestly I mean I noticed with myself when something looks good on me.

And I had a heart -- -- teens are hard -- -- and I like a pair I've by the minute right yeah appreciate.

-- I can imagine.

And don't these -- is probably not as comfortable with her body she finds something she likes it out he spends on actually -- -- grip which the loyal customer right and here we have retailers.

Really struggling.

In a -- economy to grow their businesses well here is an underserved market who will be loyal to you.

Some front some companies that target this Lane Bryant yes ray I think people silence as a whole section on how to do it faster yes if you're bigger sized yes -- -- -- that's something I just noticed that and there's a new company called publicly.

Eloquent and it is it's -- the.

Interesting case say it's I'm was launched by the limited.

OK and it was launched at the end of 2011 and -- is in direct response to fashion bloggers.

We're saying that listen this idea that just because a woman is larger than a size fourteen.

This notion that she is an interest in fashion isn't the case and so.

They have really and led the charge the recent I think is interesting I think a lot of people don't understand -- maybe I can provide a little insight about how this works.

-- consumption.

It's a real issue and when you cut.

Close typically what happens is in the fashion industry they'll create a block on -- six and then they grade it.

Up and down.

Depending on you know the actual style and that works because it did distribution of weeks -- women between a size zero and a size twelve.

Doesn't vary that much when you get a oversized twelve -- a lot more complicated and I think that's one of the reasons.

That retailers do shy away from this -- just trying to do this they have five body shapes.

And that there and that they're proposing as being the model.

How they're gonna grow this business that's that's a tremendous point and fabric it's hot tea and it -- did not out there.
