Ever hear good morning Don you look great this morning and I turned out that the columnist is terrific thank you very much content on -- 300 comparable -- Well arsenal overblown forgotten on.

-- and toward -- talk about gay marriage.

President -- camera our nine.

Well you know I did in fact AEI -- piece in the Huffington Post just this past Friday.

I'll but I focused on the political side of it because it actually he sort of puts Romney.

Back in the race for four months Republicans have been ruining their campaign chances by being distracted by social issues.

Now the president gave them a social issue that can actually -- -- -- simply because of the clarity of the two opposing positions are the inside track is.

That there was absolute clearance for Joseph Biden to go and Meet the Press -- say would he says so that was not a shock.

What the White House was not counting line.

Was the fact that the media took what Biden said -- use it as a launching pad.

Of essentially box President Obama in -- corner where they just were not going to relent.

Until he made some sort of public commitment statement one way the -- Vista where he stood that they would not counting line and as a result of force the issue out.

Two sides of that on the democratic side.

Of the reality is is that those who -- strongly in favor of gay rights to same sex marriage.

Are those who are some of the most disappointed.

Of Barack Obama's 2008 supporters to.

To the extent to some of their checkbooks its -- closes wow now that's all changed this will give them motivation to get out to the polls on the other hand if we look at -- how does that work for Romney.

Don they have been thirty -- referendums throughout the United States.

Ballot initiatives to support same sex marriage.

Do you know how many of them have passed the zero.

None of them have passed so what we can look from Ed at this point in terms of the guides the judgments and -- -- polls indicated.

Ambassador pulled on not support and that's my next point out that national polls now show that the majority of Americans.

Either fully support or comfortable with same sex marriage but what the statistic that I just like -- cited shows.

Is that the majority of Americans who actually go to the polls and vote to.

Are not in favor of same sex marriage and that is a plus for Mitt Romney.

To motivate those voters because many of those voters have not been that comfortable -- Mitt Romney because they did not think.

He was conservative enough his taking a clear stands opposed to the president.

Gives him an opportunity to rain and some of those -- so on balance both candidates get a benefit from that to an unfortunate -- shipment points on.

May not know on -- even signed.

Yeah now -- number.

Well so was civil rights by not mean the reality is is that everybody uses those issues politically and generally speaking it is only when the political drive.

Is it has reached the point where action can actually be taken to Begin with -- -- council large you know yet.

-- -- durable America that's right you're actually there were actually about thirty stakes in fact -- up until about ten years ago.

I'll -- that in fact it -- -- against the law.

An exemption signed -- and what while it seems as saying only in terms of the values that we we exists with now it doesn't seem insane in terms of where we came from in terms of slavery and how that would have been a a vestige.

Of that of that kind of racism and and slightly you know -- that that's that's -- a distinct point.

Because one of the problems Republicans have and that Romney has Barack Obama has a forty point lead among Hispanics.

And one of the reasons is not even Mitt Romney's -- Hispanic Americans have associated the Republican Party with anti immigration laws and Alabama and Arizona that seemed to target them.

As a special group that the government or the state is taking action against and you brought up the -- laws and race.

And I'm not in Arizona I'm not Hispanic Americans but as an after.

African American I can tell you that -- there were there were poll tax laws there -- laws that said grandfather clauses that in order to vote.

Your grandfather had to be a free man now Don.

-- -- and 2012.

Most of us have that covered did you dress that -- 1877 a lot of my folks have a lot of problems try to get to the polls were backed out of -- -- so that's so you can understand.

Why Hispanic Americans feel so targeted.

By this kind of action on the part of Republicans and that explains part of of the and the president's forty point leaked.

So intimate the president was -- -- entertainment edgy and then -- proclamation.

-- bars by saying gamblers who -- should be left up to the individual states and what should probably shut downs but.

What they do that on both sides now Dick Cheney former vice president.

Who probably has more of a problem with -- -- and Barack Obama but also has a situation where his daughter.

Was was that we don't -- openly I'll come out his position was luck.

I think that you know we we have to deal with -- and evolving society but in reality it should be left to the -- that's always the final exit strategy for anybody who's dealing with an issue like that is to take your position.

Either for it or against that and then say but it really ought to be left to the states which is sort of help.

Helps to mollify.

Some of the opposition based on the constitutional perspective we're sort of -- movement Carl Jeffers there.

On -- when -- sort of talk to -- That's before -- questions already we're gonna delay are -- sports fan mama vested -- of course on -- and I was proud that.

That's one of the reasons that I got an hour's sleep -- and I watched the the from lakers get thundered biographer under our -- Laker fan.

While the Laker fan I'm a Miami Heat fan -- I think it's time for -- Ron that the debt is ring by I I certainly on the the the expertise and experience.

A San Antonio to still be in the playoffs -- so yeah.

I'll show actually -- -- can't wait for the NFL season this all right I've played tennis and you know we got some big tournaments coming up and and golf flooding in on big fan of while those words -- -- My remember Warner wolf two years ago in Washington -- to say let's go to the videotape is the watch and -- Clients are incidentally -- done near larger -- -- in order.

Then Hal brown.

I draw lessen soon was good to be with regard Carl Jeffers and Imus morning program that is twelve minutes delay our.
