All right now let's start time of the day of the superintendent of schools for the town of silence at Long Island -- small -- 540000.

Dollars -- yeah that's according to the Newsday newspaper.

Her name is Carol Hank and and now -- angry citizen is doing something to stop excessive pay.

He's running -- this global.

And he hasn't even graduated high school yet joining us now is Josh laugh -- -- -- He's eighteen years old and yes again he is running for the school will Josh welcome program.

Thank you so much mr.

Barnett for having me I really appreciate this opportunity just -- -- -- very go to like that you're you're you're welcome guest now much.

540000.

Dollars in -- of the school superintendent you think that's too much.

I absolutely think it's too much but look it's -- it's not an issue about leadership.

How can you as the leader of a school district as the teachers to take a pay freeze for the second year in a row.

And then except the rates.

Is she is she doing meant he -- we re just our teachers for the second year in a row.

And it was reported that in June of 2011.

All nine school board members voted to give Carol hanged in a race OK what it what else does she get for 540000.

A year okay that's salary and -- announced -- -- it.

Well as I said I spent Saturday night with my friends reading over the contract and it's really good read.

She gets a chauffeur she gets a driver she gets -- its business trips taking care if she gets sick -- is the contract is enormous.

And it's just wants -- -- and salary is a specific example of how this chaos at school district there's so much waste within our budget.

-- they also school district should be acting more like a fortune 500 company.

We should be examining all areas in which we can eliminate waste.

Improve efficiencies and reduce cost -- school board that you trying to join an existing members of the school what they say this is fine they're OK with this salary.

Absolutely and even the incumbent some running against -- that same news they article.

We're quoted supporting her salary while I was opposing it.

Okay so I also want 20000 people is -- opportunity around 25000 people it's a relatively small town of 6000 students in the school system around 623 teaches a budget of a 188 million dollars -- yeah.

Now if this were private enterprise.

Somebody running an enterprise all of that size would only students and -- in the budgets.

I get a half million dollars -- you wouldn't.

Absolutely but it's not private enterprise the taxpayers are -- this school district.

Additionally Carol Heineken is not a CEO of an organization she's not bringing in new business she simply running a school district and I think set I want.

Carol -- and and I want to -- -- we'll -- to be run more like a fortune 500 companies charge.

That the wonderful thing about what you're doing is you're looking at with franchise you know you have been corrupted -- As as most of us old folks have by by all the politics it goes into things.

Do you think that young people all over the country are looking at these outrageous salaries by public officials and saying this -- wrong with big government the only way to correct this is by get.

-- government smaller look absolutely.

Look at the problems on national scale our national governments drowning in debt and even local municipalities all people are in trouble across the country and it's the job of the youth.

To get involved and make sure that we -- a tough decisions right now look the problem right now is that politicians all across the country.

-- taking the sure way out there making short easing minded decisions.

And the problem snowball we need to make the tough decisions right now -- just remind everybody you are eighteen if someone better just off camera very proud of -- excellent one last question.

If you more articulate -- I am and 41 now let me ask you why the board supporting this what are they got to get out of this yet ironically and simple.

Carol crank in its hand picking board members.

We hadn't had a contested election chaos in over six years either people getting paid as well Lilly and it's a volunteer jobs is hand picking the board members and the reason I know so if there's on January 4.

Doctor Hank and approached me.

And it she saw that I'm gaining a real strong foothold in playoffs and she asked to -- me and she told him that she convinced one of the other board members not to run for reelection.

If I'd run on her ticket.

And I rejected her offer because I will not be -- beholden to the close power structure.

So what happens this is the problem is that is layoffs that we've had six years of uncontested elections.

Now we have a contested election the citizens of fighting OPEC Governor Cuomo better watch his back because you're going right after you sound like Governor Christie OK ladies and gentlemen everybody in the studio -- round of applause but should offer.

The July through the I think you've got -- thanks for joining us for example will follow you through this we really well thanks look.
