I'd Larry's showbiz in the principles CME group former NFL -- money manager at Eugene profit.
What a great name is -- with some unique buying opportunities.
Adams affairs Sandra Smith will be up breaking in with the latest earnings -- we have a slew coming your way but -- let's get started with -- at the CME.
I look I haven't kind of a macro question.
Or this economic uncertainty how does that play out vs the evaluation on the equity markets right now.
Right now playing out -- -- is a perfect example of a cautiously.
Can use market nobody knows what to do.
The pain trade -- to the outside because there's no are also put your money right now people of this dismissing ADP report.
They are grabbing Ahold of the notion that may be a Spanish dab bank deals in the works and perhaps that jobless claims numbers will be good so.
Here we are we're down just a little bit but great momentum on a clause.
Eugene up looking you know.
And we're looking at what some people might regard as a spring slowdown do you see it that way and if so.
Do you leave things as is or are you going to scoop up some things that you feel -- pretty inexpensive at this point.
Yes hi Liz I think the story here is resiliency of the mark in the face of mixed economic -- I think that.
-- would you just mentioned it on ten year treasuries that.
Less than 2% when you get a dividend -- a large cap stock.
That has some growth.
Of that selling at -- -- multiples below market I think is a very attractive time to select some good high quality names.
Eugene let me follow up and we've talked about Europe at the top of the -- -- and all the uncertainty there and -- they do stay up predictions.
But I get the sense a little bit of a disconnect the decoupling.
That -- -- the phrase comes up and up between what's going on in Europe.
About US market though they equity markets to continue to gain ground.
Actually if I do agree I think the US market on the certainly doing battered economy in the US doing a little bit -- and in Europe.
But I think today inside the -- -- -- -- or risk.
Com on environment if you looked at consumer Staples stocks and sector to Telecom sector on the seconds before -- better on the financials and energy really.
All perform less well financial Stiller some -- weak coming off of you know that the some levels.
But I think net net on the US market is showing mix data but doing better and -- the world.
OK Larry it looking -- again we're getting some numbers coming in in just a minute we're just parsing through to make sure it you know it's better to be right than first on the civil he's working on -- -- the -- but but.
What do you feel about this earnings season and we got more than 70% of the S&P 500 companies that have reported beat him.
Yeah I -- a heavy lifting the earnings season is over and on the margin it's all been very good.
And we see -- -- the result right behind me.
And it's hard to believe -- and keep the cash is about 14100 -- control the agenda right now.
Now I like Obama on we've got Green mountain coffee and DreamWorks but out of let's get -- Green mountain for best.
Grain mountains shares have been halted by the latest on what you -- Liz and there's some big news about this first Green mountain I'm missing big time on revenue reporting 885.
Point one million.
Dollars in revenue for this second quarter -- he was expecting 971.
Point 65 million now non-GAAP earnings per share right in line with expectations.
But it is a big -- on the revenue line -- I just got the Larry gets any response that we know the coffee prices are sky high but Larry this is a big miss on the revenue side.
Yeah as a big mess that maybe they finally got their inventory turnover -- you guys know that the SEC is probing because they have.
Seeing that may be.
Finds their numbers just a little bit the inventory has not been reflect.
-- the revenues so.
May be the truth is in the -- right now and that's why the stock is down not up over higher dollars a share -- -- OK Eugene you know whether you view on the stock out of a deal on Green mountain.
I own Green mom not alone and now I think that the story here is this very competitive now you have Starbucks.
On in the take up market now Dunkin' Donuts in the -- up market on the and so I'm not surprised agree Marten is having a little bit revenue trouble here.
The you know and and they do and we talked to Howard Schultz who has that deal with the Green mountain -- cup machines but now -- -- there are also.
Over at Starbucks making their deliveries smile when he told us unequivocally were staying with Green mountain will -- of -- spread it out but.
Just makes you wonder eventually if he doesn't end up picking a winner at some point to that may not be Green mountain.
Larry.
Yeah I out of there's a lot of other ones that -- this space is getting compressed I Mena.
I have trouble of renowned just because of the SEC -- how they have overseen the overstayed their profits.
Revenue has not been not in line I don't I'm not surprised at all a big mess I wouldn't touch the stock right now okay halted them grain mountains -- It is halted just go back to Adam for DreamWorks what -- -- got out of well live for DreamWorks it's a beat and beat on revenue 136 point one million in the first quarter for them -- -- street expecting 133 million earnings per share coming in at eleven cents the street was expecting nine cents.
-- saying that in the second quarter they expect.
Dvd sales of come -- Pandit to -- -- gas card helped contribute.
To their bottom line but I know -- is a big fan of was a move.
I'll be penalized and -- well they're expecting when it goes to television that that would be it but they've also got a big Shanghai opportunity where they were the first to really.
Get in there and say we're going to make deals with China.
I don't know you know Eugene a lot of companies it's sort of what the dot -- -- -- that they were we have a dot com strategy in the stock would jump now a lot of these.
-- movie companies are saying let's have a Chinese strategy.
IEA yes absolutely correct that think content is king here on dvd sales are down.
-- -- happily see that they did -- beat.
In both areas I'm looking forward to Madagascar -- three release I have a book so young daughters these alternate I don't own a stock I think that all.
That they're set up to do well saying that the quarter came a little better inspect that.
All right whole foods is out -- how did they do.
It's -- been -- -- earnings per share coming in at 64 cents the street expecting 59 cents on revenue though.
Once again beating two point seven billion Industrie is expecting two point 67 billion.
We wanna take a look at this have been able to -- -- yet at same store sales but that's what keeps propelling them you know they be last quarter and their same store sales last quarter were up eight point 7% list.
Hey Larry commodity prices that is something that is definitely either not -- -- -- hit the whole foods do you think that they've been able to pass those costs -- -- Yeah they have a thing as whole -- got a great footprint baby boomers like me.
Mike good food I'm willing to pay more important -- the stuff that's being sold at the other supermarkets did this in mind also.
They are on the profiting on a weekly basis -- -- thirty dollars per square foot.
Nobody gets close about a supermarket -- and it's been opening up a lot of -- as well pretty aggressive expenses go up to Sandra Smith for more on a whole foods.
-- this is affluent a lot of people are watching after the bell tonight a whole foods actually at raising their outlook got a couple levels there's full year 2012 sales -- there -- now raising to about.
Fifteen to fifteen point 6% that's up a couple percentage points.
From their original outlook but they're also raising their overall fiscal.
-- 2012 full year look at shares dropped right now about 3%.
In after hours trading so deftly that shares reflecting that -- outlook for the full year.
Very impressive also by the way the revving up the -- in Detroit the city there's really really struggling which is interest and that is say they're down they want jobs for ads run -- which is is certainly haven't been nice to hear we're still waiting guys on these up.
And we're waiting on that Weight Watchers are.
