Jim -- to get investors by surprise with a 19%.

Jump and revenue year over year for the first quarter but with a number of headwinds still -- in the airline industry.

How does the regional carrier plan to deliver continued growth to shareholders jetBlue CEO president Dave archer.

Joins me now offered exclusive interview it's great to have you back on the -- picture of lesbian markets down let's talk about about the that a quarter of -- Particular you are delivered profits -- are delivering -- capacity.

The planes are full.

Are they gonna be pulled the summit.

They're going to be and in fact the first quarter having to grow 12% contrary -- in the business but to see revenues improved by 90%.

Big first quarter for our company we're seeing continued strong solid bookings -- the second quarters well also summer's going to be fall so you're confident about revenue forecast for the you're gonna stay what we really are has we -- GDP right now and oil and what have you but we're confident for the year.

Let's talk about fuel that your -- got and then we got a call actually from a very long and investors and it -- we may see actually -- prices.

Fault for the year that wouldn't affect your hedge strategy if fuel prices do fall how much of the benefit -- -- you can bank from -- well our.

Hedge strategies -- catastrophic its insurance and sell.

In the -- quarter were approximately 6% -- trades now.

And that's really in case oil's gonna move north right so I think -- oil comes down were really protected class young fleet strong balance sheet we have the hedge program.

And I think collaboration what our crew members.

I mean it's amazing burning engines on a single at the single engine taxi when -- on the ground when you don't need to -- to flasher that was worth over five million dollars of about one and our company.

Let's talk about the competition here in speaking up oil Delta Airlines making frankly pretty surprised -- by the refinery.

What did you make of that when you heard about would you ever consider buying refinery.

I don't think so I don't think it's our core business but.

You look at delta you look at Richard Anderson and I tell you one thing they -- it's their creative.

They have a big fleet.

And when I look at the age respectively speaking of fleets maybe it's in Delta's best interest but as we take a look at it I think -- -- -- -- -- -- one operating -- not -- -- -- -- -- -- okay interesting that you -- that you and operated airline at a refinery but -- you're about the issue of aircraft.

You have the -- were -- you have that advantage.

Obviously you're gonna be making some more aircraft orders this year moving forward how much of an expansion plan.

Do you have at this point is I know they're going after new markets you just you just announced Boston Dallas yesterday.

-- big fanfare yesterday Dallas Fort Worth was the number one request -- -- -- market that we had out of Boston we're now the largest airline.

-- in -- Logan international airport itself.

Our growth in Boston but -- -- the criminal Latin America the next couple of years and we are growing there's eleven new aircraft the united -- -- next year.

I this year and additional aircraft next -- have taken Geoff Lewis probably 5678%.

Annual growth for the foreseeable future.

Case your forecasts are there let's talk about American Airlines AMR that is the -- mater who are you making this move to go after American.

Or not it's at the end the day in Boston.

We're now fly it nonstop the relative sense 45 nonstop markets of cities like Dallas Fort Worth.

Cities like Atlanta Detroit Minneapolis -- are these been requested by businesses because this is really -- request to response the request of Boston.

Here's the thing about Dallas and it can't what AMR bankruptcy right now they are vulnerable certainly could take market share but there is of course a lot of discussion about US Airways and AMR.

Merging whether AMR wants to do that are not does that worry you at all.

I think at the end of the day doesn't worry me know about from our company's perspective that's that this could this consolidation.

On the back side of all the reorganization that took place this might be the last major chapter if you will.

Of the network airlines it's stripping out on necessary capacity Cheryl this is good for the industry.

Stock is down -- astronauts about 20% last question do you do you -- that's -- there are you misunderstood by industry I think it is not AA it is unfair.

That the core of the basics this the X accused within this company is solid and I think what people are looking that is cool who's the rumor who's in play if you well in terms of them and activity of our plan -- organic growth our own people our -- -- and so we're stand of course I believe we'll get rewarded -- their departure the CEO of jetBlue Ireland's great to have you personally get comeback anytime -- appreciate the invitation nice to be.
