If you don't like what the state is doing with your taxpayer dollars take matters into your own handsets exactly what my next guest is doing.
Challenging California governor Jerry Brown's ballot measure to raise taxes.
With her own measure which would earmark the new revenue for educational purposes only.
Not to pay down debt joining us now on the fox this is exclusive civil rights attorney Bali.
Munger Molly great to have you here and and it's a stunning for some people because just seventeen months ago you would supported Jerry Brown -- and he got reelected he got elected rather and then now you're saying I don't like the measure that he has to raise taxes you have your own measure.
Let's talk about your measure -- to raise taxes on 250000.
In -- more more yours is to spread it across more income groups.
How do you get people to wrap their arms around that first.
People -- California like people all over our country care about their public schools they care about their children.
They understand that investing in our children is investing in our future.
Asking him the pay money a little bit of money it's a sliding scale so that low income people pay very little.
What it's worth that to people what would be that you might have it it's going to be paying.
What would be you know why -- sorry it's OK -- -- there's a little bit of -- -- my -- what would be the highest.
Increase in taxes on which level of people under your plan.
People making over five million a year would pay 2.2 percent more.
OK now your issue is.
You don't wanna give money to Sacramento anymore because a lot of people listen -- from California dysfunctional you say put every penny into the educational system.
There are a lot of people who say.
We can't trust those educators the California public school system is also very messy what do you say that that.
We're putting their money into a separate trust fund that Sacramento cannot touch and -- It goes out to every public school including charter schools in the state.
On a per pupil in basis which means that it's traceable it's enforceable it's transparent.
And then the money when it arrives at school districts is earmarked for particular schools.
And again according to a very understandable clear enforceable formula.
And each school community is heard from about how that money is to be spent at each and every school.
So we have a completely transparent.
Clear and enforceable process to be sure that every child in every school is going to benefit.
I want people understand what you are about -- you -- yourself out of private school when you were a teenager having a conversation with your dad Charlie Munger who is the vice chair Berkshire Hathaway with Warren Buffett.
And he went into public school so you have talked the talk and walk the walk.
You ended up going to Harvard becoming this lawyer and changing your tune and really realizing that you felt this money should go into education.
Not a surprise with Jerry.
Brown's pollster Jim Moore is saying your measure has virtually no chance of getting on the ballot what do you say to him about that.
Well I don't think got mr.
Morris saying we have no chance of getting on the ballot.
We will be on the ballot I think he's his.
The point is that we are not likely to pass.
And and their polling is simply a very different from ours and we.
And with all respect just differ are we have very very good pollsters who who find that his is the one that's in trouble honestly.
We will be watching to develop.
