Stock markets may be closed for Good Friday but it's also -- perfect occasion to give a little morality into your portfolio when it comes to stock investing to mark the holiday when -- looking at me I thought.

Joining us now as George Schwartz president and CEO Schwartz investment bank council an advisor to all they Maria mutual funds and George thank you so much.

For joining us to talk about this essentially what criteria do you used to basically determine if and investment is morally appropriate.

Well first of all let me say thanks for having me -- nationally and Liz and good death happy Good Friday.

So when we manage the ave Maria mutual funds my staff -- analysts and portfolio managers.

Look for good investment opportunities buy low sell high it's a -- and dad approach to investing.

And I want to emphasize that we are analysts and portfolio managers first.

But we screen out companies.

That.

Companies that support abortion that's the big one.

Abortion anything to do with abortion -- cleaned -- that's -- our hospital company's insurance companies that pay for abortions and drug companies that make abortion drugs.

Beyond that we screen out for a embryonic stem cell research and company engaged -- embryonic stem cell research -- screened out.

Any company that contributes to Planned Parenthood has screened out in any company engaged in pornography is -- -- Spreads out about a 150 companies.

You know what's interesting a friend finder this just popping into my head friend -- is a social media company that has a lot of Christian dating sites.

But they also -- penthouse so that would mix that -- right.

-- we wouldn't invest -- knows how to.

That's what I thought about -- all right would you invest in maybe that's easier to talk about what do you like and what does fall into the criteria and of course are a lot of names of which are your favorites at the moment.

Yeah we give -- an almost anything -- -- these 150 companies.

And 150 companies only represents 5% of the Russell 3000.

So is still leaves -- 850 companies in the Russell 3000 -- my analysts and portfolio managers.

To choose from and -- had no problem picking good stocks -- good companies because we've had terrific investment performance over the last ten years.

Who what do we like.

In the -- Maria rising dividend fund that's the five star fund that you mentioned.

Our largest holdings include a couple of oil companies ExxonMobil and ConocoPhillips.

In addition -- that we own shares of 3 -- US bank corporation.

And the lavatories Ross Stores.

These are companies that have extremely strong down -- They have a long history of increasing their dividends many cases -- five years or more -- Emerson Electric is one of our large holdings has increased their dividend for 55 years.

In a -- So this is not a high yield fund it's not a fund that pays big dividends but the stocks in this -- -- pay dividends that go up every year and that's what we like.
