Yes absolutely -- -- and I appreciate you having me on this morning.
It's -- substantial increase you know since the eighties you know the federal inmate population was about 50000.
It's well over 2171000.
And the more of these white collar cases that you see coming about with the new laws in the federal system.
I have an influx of clients element -- very much a growth industry.
Have hit hit is -- astonishing to think of it that way but it did that it's absolutely true.
But then that might be -- here white collar crime they they did they -- -- a federal crime so we're not talking about.
Rapists and mirrors which are prosecuted the state level.
Some people -- saying well why -- I need to get ready for a country club prison but that's not the case.
Now it's definitely not the case and you know you make no mistake about it these individuals are good going to a federal prison.
While there are varying degrees of security levels in the federal system you know you have a high medium low and camp.
Oftentimes a lot of these inmates do go to federal prison camp but for example the former governor of Illinois -- Rod Blagojevich he was designated to a low security facility.
In the fact that he had a fairly long sentence a lengthy sentence that many of these white collar inmates are facing now.
In excess of ten years he received a fourteen year sentence.
You know he's not going to a country club he's going to be in there with some very unstable individuals and he needs to mind -- p.'s and q.'s and what I do on -- and it is I work with my clients on dispelling some of those -- that are associated with prison they're not going the Shawshank redemption are odds.
But they are going to a dangerous place and if they step out of line with the wrong individual they can find themselves in a world of hurt.
What -- -- basically keep your mouth shut.
Instead of people is why well.
Yes it it in some regard you know they don't need to keep their mouth shut but oftentimes.
With the white collar.
Offender what the biggest problem -- the biggest challenge that I face with them is.
They oftentimes associated more with the -- staff than they do with their fellow inmates.
And this immediately puts them at odds with both the deal.
Street level drug dealer then someone who's a former governor of -- state for example or a high level multi million dollar stock trader.
Someone that they would view it as having had everything thrown all away because of their own greed or foolishness.
