Urging manufacturers -- back flawed and that having trouble keeping up with demand but we think the best people to talk to -- -- actual gun shop -- -- -- we have.
Now imagine how strong demand is of a gun shop in the city a city like Detroit.
Bill Coe sick is the -- all of action impact to gun store just outside of Detroit and he joins us now from Michigan bill welcome the program.
I know that -- sales a strong orders a strong adopt that I wanna know why why do you think you sales are up so much.
I believe that's because its citizens in this area believe that.
The law enforcement resources are stretched so -- that.
Their personal safety is now their responsibility.
And I think they feel that firearms are their last avenue of of safety and their make an effort to to buy those firearms and to get trained in the fire.
-- -- you're a special situation perhaps -- the jury just outside Detroit to Detroit has just dreadful financial problems at this moment.
Tell me though -- kind of -- of people buying.
That ninety over 90% of my sales are four handguns for personal protection.
Even the long guns that are purchased our purchased for personal protection they're not honors are not obvious.
This is offer personal defense they feel vulnerable and and they want to firearms and and they feel that way for good reason I believe.
Aren't you can I ask you what's your best selling model and what roughly is the selling price.
They think -- we're in a 500 dollar range for sale.
Selling price I would believe that my number one seller Ruger firearms and I think that's because of the price point.
That's a that's a firearm that's under 500 dollars and then probably the 600.
To 700 dollar range -- completes the rest of my sales.
Now some gun shop owners -- told is that that customers all worried about meg gun ownership rights going forward.
Any you'll customers saying the same thing.
Going to be honest with you -- only hear that periodically.
What I'm hearing that continuously.
Is.
My customers are coming in because something bad has happened in their home there's been -- home invasion in their home or into their neighbor's home.
Something bad happened and they're mayor rebutted so that's that's dominating our conversation -- that's dominating their concerns.
I'm not sensing too much.
Of any other rhetoric.
That that bill that's interest as -- a bit more on that people coming inside they have personally bad experiences.
They want to firearm.
If there is is it's postal -- out.
-- it is and it's -- it's really kind of scary I've had female 75 years and up who.
Have spent the day prior to that hiding behind their couches -- home was being ransacked.
And I've actually had a costs when this happened two days -- -- wrote to her.
So she's now come -- and -- -- she's feeling out of options and she needs to protect herself.
So we need to spend a lot of time with with purchasers like that not only to get on the right firearm to -- properly trained well this isn't something you're gonna learn in a day so -- there's -- -- desperation is what I'm sensing.
