GOP primaries tomorrow in Wisconsin Maryland and DC.
And more and more political players are treating Mitt Romney like he's already the Republican nominee.
Is Romney ready to go head to head with President Obama joining me now -- For the daily collar tackle what -- -- show always great to have you there is still that is -- the inevitable.
Romany.
-- -- -- really dramatic happens tomorrow night in Wisconsin.
There's probably no hope for Santorum in the state of Maryland.
DC doesn't really happening Republicans I would -- I can tell you.
So that's really didn't really -- that the key to -- sandstorms Tencent from strategy to extent they're still is one.
If he if you loses tomorrow night -- -- very hard to raise money so yes -- after tomorrow -- clean Romney will be the presumptive nominee.
Strong in some ways not so strong others I would caution though against these head to head match -- that you often see in the newspaper on television.
Probably not the most predictive poll out there probably a better -- look at the president's approval rating NA.
And be the right track wrong track numbers about the country -- people think the country is moving in the right direction and don't think those numbers to look pretty bad for the president of the polls.
We were looking at today for Romney in these primaries he leads by seven Wisconsin 25 -- Maryland pretty impressive -- you say DC.
You know it is what it is but I -- you to respond to this Donald Trump -- today here's what that Donald Trump had to say I'd read it.
If bricks and -- Rick Santorum loses Wisconsin tomorrow and he still doesn't get -- you have to realize that at some point people just don't mind making jerks out of themselves.
Up.
When you make of that well I mean he would he would now but it because -- think I thought you said that not elect friends not -- -- -- -- but -- anybody who appears in public with hair like that obviously doesn't.
And embarrass himself I don't either -- -- you know I'm not casting stout -- know in Britain you're right there is -- cost attached especially on the Republican side.
To staying in beyond the point at which other people believe you have a shot at becoming the nominee.
And that may be tomorrow for central we'll see -- -- injuries are determined by money though when -- donors refused to pony up.
You can't pay your plane tickets so it is over at that point we'll we'll -- Well I you know if Donald Trump calls us on I'm forwarding all the calls to you -- I have.
Listen what are the things I want to talk about tonight to.
Is that's piling on -- Ryan's tax plan.
And now connecting natural Romney which is what's so interesting.
There's now an ad out that's being sponsored by apps mean that your tax dollars to work the American federation of state county municipal -- -- They're the ones who ponied up the debt of Paper this.
Here's what it -- -- congressmen right and voted to and then again back column we -- -- young man in the -- well.
Learn his -- Yeah Brian just voted again to replace Medicare's guaranteed benefits -- kind of vouchers that would cover the cost can learn.
There's been Ryan pretend his vote against Medicare is different this time but it really does -- think we were born yes.
And -- The Gramm lives and that these -- we make -- this one.
-- it's pretty common place you see these every election cycle it's pretty disgusting and irresponsible on the other hand if you think it through a little bit Medicare is the single largest federal expenditures the reason.
We're trillions in debt to the Chinese is the reason.
We're gonna be unable to continue functioning as a government fairly soon so we we are gonna cut Medicare.
We are gonna cut benefits -- that will happen that's not one right wingers prediction that's a statement of fact.
The question is do we do it intelligently.
Or are we demagogued into ignoring the an -- buy ads like this I mean anybody would run an ad like that -- doesn't really care.
What happens to Medicare because trust me it's going to run out of money.
Well you're definitely -- run out of money a lot of programs are gonna run out of money.
They need to be downsized the boy it to do this to talk about this in an election campaign.
Is to take your very political life in your hands don't you think Mitt Romney is doing that and don't you think Paul Ryan does that every -- all right.
It doesn't quite bad and you know will -- a member of congress and it you know there's the stakes with respect for a little bit lower than they are in a presidential race or national election.
I don't think Romney's been far out on the Medicare question actually I think for conservatives he's been awfully timid.
On that question night I think in fact he he went after his opponents earlier in the primary saying that they would.
You know make -- -- cat food.
You don't kill kill your grandparents because they were against -- marvelous.
Demagogued himself on the question.
Those troopers say into how Obama's doing with women.
His numbers you know he's.
Up eighteen points with women.
While -- is not doing well here wary did originally did very well with women what's going on do you think.
What's been a long time since a Republican presidential candidate has won the majority of the female vote.
There is a gender gap it favors Democrats.
Unmarried women without children overwhelmingly vote Democrat -- -- with children actually vote Republican still at this stage.
But yeah this is a major problem for Republicans they are.
They are outfox by Democrats those -- why did Democratic National Committee it's -- that the president's reelection campaign.
Have been -- this war on women seeing for the past couple of months of some other Republican Party.
-- -- -- Because it it it placed one of their strengths which is among female voters Republicans have to deal -- this I don't think the key necessarily is staking -- a pro choice position.
But the key you got to address is somehow because women the majority of voters and if they're against you -- a problem.
-- majority of the voters but I don't think even predict how we're gonna vote I hate it when you do this with women or Hispanics or anybody else -- -- -- These groups they although at the same way all we have to do it -- number of ideas that will bring him over north side I I don't think the solutions are easy what do you say don't.
Course they're not of course are not easy it's not as simple as saying I'm pro choice on abortion therefore vote for me.
It's not axiomatic there's if there's a huge spectrum of opinion among female voters on that question as there is on every question.
But certainly when you're having a conversation about whether or not you know contraception ought to be legal but -- nobody has -- become illegal.
But when Republicans -- themselves on the defensive.
And -- -- -- know I really believe -- got such -- that's probably not a good day from the point of view of appealing to female voters I'd think that's a fact based assertion that I think it is that you shouldn't be that -- but I think it is.
Thanks for coming on -- -- it's always great to have you on the show appreciate it.
