Global warming hysteria really rising more more against that history by the way -- scientists -- saying that the effects have been -- -- Joining us now is how and Pamela he wrote the new book.
You don't sell your -- I'm off that's my -- as a law does it not.
How welcome the program.
That you -- stability of global warming Connick guy.
You became something of a skeptic so let's -- -- I wanna know what was the reaction to you personally when he -- mr.
Well it started at home my own wife was alarmed beyond measure that I had changed my views I tried to walk her through might change of heart.
Little -- little night by night settlement requires couldn't sleep.
Shouldn't want to hear and then our friends.
Also were alarmed by me.
And they've been polite note that in a few instances I have lost friends.
What about it professionals uncles did you get hostility.
I would say that hasn't impacted my ability to publish with some publications.
And so that's one reason I wrote the book when it let let's let's get defined.
Some publishes toned -- us as we're not publishing you'll walk in your book.
-- -- I have well you know that I published something in the Huffington Post in 2009 after -- summit correspondents in between myself and Arianna Huffington.
She turned around two days later said she didn't know who I was have been published by mistake the Huffington Post with so far as the ban me from comments as people start to Hillary.
She published a couple of attack pieces on the at -- and pieces.
And so -- -- that case that affected my abilities published at the Huffington Post OK and -- and now -- -- it -- move on because you became a skeptic.
And it what was your fundamental problem with the global warming on to what turned you around.
Was started with a single article that I read about a Russian solar physicist and -- -- get into the details but it does surprise me that a credible scientists who at a high level position with the Russians.
With quote calling into question and a global warming missing at the power of carbon dioxide to raise the atmosphere temperatures was exaggerated.
So I started reading a lot about him and a lot of -- other scientists who were top tier sciences.
Who had taken great risks personally and professionally to doubt the mainstream view.
Promulgated by NASA and other.
Scientists around the world -- the skeptic that that the global warming people are gonna say you -- -- you on not a scientist -- Natalia.
But I would be very happy to debate science with Al -- the around here that a -- That would be really a delight from -- at your celebrity if you're from Hollywood and you sign off on them party line about global warming you know enough.
But if you're skeptic and authored a researcher like myself then your credentials -- called into question by some certain people.
And that's just how it is now good -- but might.
You just said the word science is about skepticism sciences about it -- proof.
And this is the problem we've exaggerated and put an agenda behind -- -- look we're all responsible adults.
We all wanna clean environment we should be responsible about our climate but we shouldn't take it into a ideology which is what it's become.
It hasn't you know the phrase warmest ever -- a particular problem with -- blog about this but -- them and often under gonna -- on a daily basis if you follow this is now it's not accurate now is not the warmest time ever on planet earth and when they say that does.
Year 2000.
Seven was the murder first warmest year ever that's enough 150.
Year period of measurement.
If you include.
Time going back through our ice age which started three million years ago now.
That each of the preceding inter glacial we live in an in eruption of the ice -- before ours was warmer than today.
So that means -- in which was a 1101000.
Years ago was two degrees warmer.
Sea level was fifteen feet higher than today fifteen feet higher.
The idea that sea levels ever stable is anti science and it can they convince the whole generation of people that sea levels supposed to be at the level of Miami Beach where the condos are.
But how do you battle back I mean they have commits the whole generation we were talking about having kids and send him to school and and the new construct around which you talk about be a good person -- being socially responsible -- it's no longer god now it's the environment.
And you talk -- -- -- your kids before they go to school but if they don't embrace.
Sort of the whole pro environment global warming theme they can get questions wrong -- -- they can alienate their teachers I mean.
It seems like the ship has sailed how do you battle back.
Well my daughter my older daughter's only in first grade -- on only see ethnicity higher toward today it.
But -- but the truth is that.
It's going to be one year at a time this year you know -- that they're being talked about keeping environment clean efficient as we all agree yes we should clean up trash we should also cleanup Superfund sites.
We should mitigate pollution coming from.
Coal fired electric plants.
That doesn't mean -- necessarily shut them down we should intelligently -- -- the emissions from those plants.
And and move forward and so yes my -- being taught that the world needs to be kept.
Carefully and that you have to be clean and Green but not at the expense of affordable energy for people who commute to the third and fourth job.
In this country and people around the world who need affordable energy.
How -- what was timing and does throw what you -- don't sell your 'cause cellular business -- -- that would argue about this intelligently.
Now thanks very much for joining me it's -- very much.
