Really go back down to DC and the Russell rotunda representative Bill Johnson a Republican from Ohio with us right now.
We're talking about -- Hamas sees all day today in the big question to you and your constituents are areas.
Are any of them helping them are any and why we can't we -- job creation out in your state.
Well what we're not Tracy and you know everybody knows that this president's policies have hurt America they continue to make our economy worse.
He says he wants and all of the above energy policy.
-- his actions we write the opposite we've seen.
Gas prices doubled since he came into the -- into office.
On the average Americans are paying 300 dollars more per year.
To provide electricity to their home just just this week you know we -- down in Marietta Ohio we saw gas prices popping up around 399 a gallon.
And -- -- signs already today around the country where it's over four dollars.
-- America can't stand this especially in rural districts like mine Tracy where people have to drive.
2530.
Miles to go to a doctor -- through grocery store.
Or even to get to work.
So it it is a real problem.
We've got solutions here in the house the Republican led house and we've tried to get those solutions to the senate but we're not getting a lot of cooperation.
What's really interesting today representative is that gas in your -- -- had hit.
Fresh all time high are high that we haven't seen in a long time the same day our president is visiting Ohio State taken out some fancy electric car and you know adding more fuel to the fire of why the government should continue to fund these programs in Ohio say it's about a million dollars -- graduate program.
Which is all fine and well it's sort of misdirected isn't it.
Absolutely.
It's it's misdirected here you have the president trying to take credit now for.
For approving.
All -- approval.
Of those the southern half of the keystone XL pipeline which is not want to do any good.
Because it doesn't connect with -- where the oil would be coming from -- -- life.
I giving someone a car and telling them your gonna give -- to -- to go in the car.
There are going to be able to take it very far.
And the president would rather give that the taxpayer dollars -- failed energy companies like Solyndra.
Rather than really focusing on on on on all the above energy policy that goes after our own natural resources.
You know we only.
We already -- about three trillion barrels of oil.
We've got oil and the outer continental shelf.
We've got oil Lynn and -- we've got oil.
Onshore on federal lands but.
But this president's policies do -- the opposite.
Now are you worried and that based on what we've heard recently.
Especially about it you know out of Cushing.
That he's meaning and -- -- himself to the center a little bit say you know -- yes let's drill its duties some pipelines not all -- some.
In an effort to get himself reelected only to -- and.
Act two is old ways once he gets and well I I think there's no question that this that the president is focused more on this next election -- the next generation.
Because if if -- weren't that he would be approving the keystone XL pipeline he talks about.
You know we're drilling everywhere but that's not true.
Oil production federal lands last year.
11%.
The only reason that we saw any uptick at all in domestic oil production last year.
Was because of private sector.
Oil production home private -- -- -- state owned lands.
So again the president says one thing he -- -- and I think the American people are too Smart to fall for that.
Because they're the ones paying the gas prices of the home.
And man are we ever where I -- -- I feel it every day representative Bill Johnson Republican miles thank you Regina time to talk -- -- there.
Thank you very isn't going to be what it speeds up and yes we.
Certainly are feeling I --
