-- -- thank you so much Oklahoma congressman Tom Cole is a member of the House Budget Committee congressman thank you for joining us this more.
So -- you hear from the Democrats this plan from Paul Ryan is not going anywhere at the non starter -- use.
Well first dole is going some place is gonna pass the Budget Committee and eventually pass.
The House of Representatives and will appropriate to the numbers in that budget so.
You'll have a direct impact on many more importantly though we are in the presidential year and this -- the time for great debate we all know that we're spending too much.
-- do think we have a debt crisis looming on the horizon.
-- -- -- -- one guy in this town along with that committee actually lay out a solution and then make some tough decisions.
President hasn't done that the senator course hasn't been able to pass a budget in three years so at least you've got somebody willing to -- it's too bad that it's.
42 year old congressman from Wisconsin -- the president the United States.
What in terms of what you're doing with taxes and this proposal you know going from six brackets to brackets.
10% rate 25% rate this this is the beginning of real tax reform.
But what about cutting.
The tax breaks this is inevitable and necessary if you're gonna reform the tax -- what can you tell me about the tax breaks.
And on that you're willing to get rid -- Well I think all of them are on the table and what we've done.
Is basically lay out where we wanna go we've gotten from chairman Dave Camp of the Ways and Means Committee.
You know commitment to hill.
Have the hearings have the debates and that that's the direction of moving and we think that ought to be done in the light -- day.
But I think quite a few of the tax shelters now that individual industries haven't frankly that.
And -- high income people have are going to be on the chopping block most of the deductions that individuals -- Are taken by individuals in the top two.
Those four polite.
Think you're -- look.
Thank you Tom Covert spent some great work on this in his back to the black and one of the things he is laid out there is something to consider.
Is that taking away the deductions from second and third homes vacation homes quite often.
And lowering the cap so obviously most Americans would continue to get the benefit but the very wealthy Americans might not.
I think you gotta look at every single tax bracket that way in the exchange.
Higher income people get a lower tax rate which you know keep him in the head keeps him investing in -- profitable productive way for the entire top.
What do you think happens with our tax code between now in the end of the year.
Because you have a plan here that congressman Ryan has put out to reform met.
We you have the bush tax cuts do expire.
At the end of the year tell me what you think happens.
Tell -- who wins the elections in November and I can give you better answer I do think that we have all the bush tax cuts expiring at four trillion dollars.
We had a sequester which is another -- we had the payroll tax holiday.
You know it's -- it's sort of like the Mayan calendar everything ends in 2012.
So I expect a lot of big decisions to be made in November and December.
But -- -- honestly very directly on -- the incoming -- the United States is and who control CBS senate.
Just one last thing senate Democrats have described the 'cause again the discretionary spending in this plan.
Is -- nineteen billion dollars lower than what was agreed on in that budget act last year and senate Democrats -- call that a breach of faith.
And alluding to the back to risk another government shut down congressman hating moron that.
Well first of all its its political theatrics -- on the part of Democrats in the senate.
The government wasn't shut down during the last budget debate the budget was shut down the debt ceiling of the government.
The debt -- price will be shut down now but.
-- -- -- for group of people that haven't been able to reduce a budget in three years.
To be throwing rocks because we wanna spend all of nineteen billion dollars less in a three and a half trillion dollar budget.
Is just simply ridiculous and shows that there's simply no spending cuts that they find acceptable.
Thank chairman Ryan said -- best.
Looked at 1047.
Is a ceiling we think we can do better than that given the size of our debt crisis I think most Americans want us to do better than.
Congressman is good to save congressmen and Tom Cole from Oklahoma be well.
