-- the campaigner in chief on another fund raising spree hero he raised 45 million dollars in February along.
The president has now held 100 and -- fund -- since announcing his reelection bid.
And hosting one more in Washington today for more on the president's reelection bid and they.
And the Republican race for the nomination we welcome -- as -- or violence Juan Williams.
Author of the book multiple the assault on honest debate one and this president is -- it's a breathtaking pace when it comes to fundraising.
How do you rationalize this.
Where I think that they're fair is that somehow he's going to be outraged that in fact when you look at the super -- that supports -- they're raising less than the GOP super tax.
By far.
So -- and member the president has said to all the congressional committees is not gonna raise money for them he wants it all or himself flew.
So he feels threatened right now he thinks that somehow.
A lot of his opponents.
Not just Republican opponents -- -- does not speaking those terms on people with money to spend are gonna really -- -- come November and he wants to be loaded on his end of the table.
I love some of the that.
They're reasoning that that the -- that's being played out here on the part of the Democrats in particular.
They're saying that there's so little excitement about the Republican nominee that that's why they're running.
I have about before the level as president George W.
Bush in 2004 of his reelection bid out of you -- of that.
Well I think that -- Been a reluctance to put money on the table from some of the very big Republican donors.
Because they were looking for someone they -- get behind -- -- you think about some of the people who were.
You know the pioneers in the captains and all the other kind of -- -- that President Bush is President Bush was a terrific fund raiser about the way.
And we haven't seen that kind of money come out for the Republicans are some exceptions people like Foster freeze for Santorum.
Or Sheldon Adelson for Newt Gingrich and and of course new get and Mitt Romney's -- has done pretty well.
But that's based on Wall Street again and a lot of his support coming out of there.
It hasn't been a kind of general Republican support that someone like -- -- when he looks that you know -- these campaign finance statements.
-- those guys are still sitting on the sidelines and it's hard to understand why at this point except that they're waiting for the big contest.
The president gone out on the trail again this week trying to explain slender trying to explain First Solar trying to explain.
Is -- energy policy.
Eight -- what do you make of this and he is this a sign that he's in real difficulty.
Isn't difficulty look his numbers are up today and Gallup but.
The fact is his numbers went down -- so they're up this week but.
His numbers went down and the reasoning went down is because of gas prices because people don't believe.
That he is doing all he can to you know keep gas prices low -- I know that the experts also he doesn't control gas price of the global marketplace success -- But the American people want him to do something and they didn't like we did on the pipeline is you know it's about 60% of Americans who think that pipeline should be built forth with.
And then we ask in general about the rate of drilling -- the rate of oil and gas production the country.
Out while the White House -- -- -- up you know where update people say yeah that's up because the things that were done by the previous president not this one and they wanna see more of this one so.
His numbers are right now but the White House these that there is a tremendous liability in terms -- gas prices they're trying to get out in front of it looked.
All right Juan Williams has always good to talk --
