We think so this certainly has strong appeal among the grass -- and -- that.
The voters in North Dakota we're confident that we're on the right track.
Now you want to do this because.
Everybody's drilling for oil in North Dakota and the state has a budget selfless.
So -- around some of that is is it no property taxes at all correct.
That's right we certainly have enough resources that we don't need to raise any taxes anywhere else.
Oil is just a small part of the picture the state is doing really strong economically.
Now I am told that property taxes in in my response of America much of the property tax that we -- actually goes towards education.
I'm told that there is a -- of children in North Dakota.
And that I'm -- -- I believe this is true and that you're actually closing a lot of schools Bethel you don't need the property tax loving.
-- -- -- Well that's true on two counts the first of course is yes our student population across the state is declining.
But also the state already covers about 7%.
-- have our K through twelve abdication and so really only about 30% -- school funding comes from property taxes.
So who would approves the abolition of property taxes in North Dakota if you go to state selfless and new drilling for crazy -- oil.
Who could who would be your opposition tell me.
I -- it's the people -- benefit from the property tax structure.
Those who are our -- didn't -- property taxes.
And also those who receive property tax exemptions.
-- they don't like to see their advantage go away.
Are you would you say that you are on the it on the cheap bodies on -- things.
We went -- a limited government of course but we also want a responsible and a fair government and property tax really is.
The most unfair about taxes.
Forgive me for asking Jolie and but may I ask.
Maybe -- shouldn't ask the you don't have to answer how much property tax do you cut.
I think you've got a single family home in the whole of -- -- -- I don't know what effect.
I am my taxes have doubled in in the sixteen years that we've lived in our home.
And so right now our taxes are we actually are ours -- little bit lower than average ours are about fourteen.
Hundred -- year the average family in north -- -- between three and 4000.
