It's by Compuware ET -- 70% of tablet users.

Expect.

A website to -- in two seconds or less and if not they're gone we're some of the market.

Eric sure is senior vice president -- where.

And died joins us now to talk more about this survey is kind of interesting to people will.

And it if people don't get the website.

Iraq -- have -- apps -- -- -- little website on the tablet on the on the browser and it doesn't load right away and this happens more times than not it happens fairly often.

-- there.

Now that's right in -- 46% of people said that.

If a website -- -- slowly they'll go to your competition right so these these people be used tablets -- upscale and there are impatient and there I'm forgiven.

This a couple of things to sit up and observations here -- out -- in some ways it's funny.

And in other ways it's practical for business and -- up what we have a thought a screen that we can show you of each day.

And -- an example of a company that has done this pretty well.

And in the -- -- they've that they've actually prepared -- site just for tablets on the street right now eBay's regular website -- on the left a cluttered it is and and difficult to say and then there optimizes they called website for the tablets is simple.

And in -- and I guess it bodes pretty quickly right and that is -- and are not enough companies doing this.

Most companies are not doing this most companies were caught by surprise by the -- revolution.

And -- under invested in building web site specifically for tablets.

The fact you know tablets -- less than two years old.

Most companies are still scrambling to get a good website experience for people are using Smartphones.

Now these tablets have come along and they just completely men caught by surprise and it under invested in providing a good experience for tablet users.

The consequence of course has lost revenue right but almost half people -- they're gonna go someplace else that's a pretty damaging situation.

Right and that's why -- said that it there's -- practical concerns about this I was -- say it's funny because out of -- -- -- but there's a there's a Louis CK to comedian in their -- some years back which was actually just drop dead funny anybody is seen it would knows.

You know everything's amazing to nobody's happy because on about how you have the Internet on the plane and then can.

We just got a five minutes ago and then when it breaks down people -- -- as they can't believe that the Internet doesn't work right at -- -- like that that you know you're gone into seconds -- the tablet.

Web -- doesn't load and -- cuts can't people just relax your little bit.

But at the same time these companies are losing money so what advice would you give these companies and in terms of what they can do differently.

Well they should do three things the first position take -- seriously they should have a tablet initiative and our company.

The second thing is that as part of that initiative they need to create a web experience a web site that specifically designed for tablet users.

And the third thing is ready to take performance seriously because the number one criticism -- tablet users -- slow loading web sites.

And to do that properly they need to measure performance from the end user perspective.

Most companies are stuck in the dark ages of measuring performance in the data center you've got to get -- the end user is and measure from their perspective.

Look at that slow to load 66% of people terms of problems and had on the tablet over the past.

A year ago what things Adam when I was reading about this that came to -- -- -- Think that companies underestimated.

What a tablet experience is going to be like remember when the late Steve Jobs is introducing the iPad and show off the web sites and I think -- the New York Times but.

There -- -- web sites back in the presentation that they would say hey this is the web just like he used about a computer.

Think companies look at that said no we don't need special web sites you might need -- a fungus are so small that they just assume that regular web sites.

Would work and I guess they don't.

They don't write -- -- reflect just a regular web site's map for a bigger screen we try to -- and onto a talented doesn't fit very well.

And if if you take a website that was built for a mobile phone and try to show and on -- tablet it doesn't take advantage of the tablet.

The top twenty retailers in the US.

85% of them display their mobile phone side when you visit from a tablet friendly experience is less than rewarding so.

They were caught by surprise to me just got to get on it.
