I don't wanna date December nobody's necessarily great read them and I admire him read I guess some random shooting a bias there aren't -- but Thomas soul out of my guest here for the remaining part of this show.
It Tommy you know you read so many its cigar on the books but the what they did treat me a lot easier warnings and -- repeatedly gone through this about -- and about what's going on there.
And and because -- such a great student of history as well you draw parallels now.
A lot of people draw the the Adolf Hitler won in the bill and under our you know -- our -- Would you want -- -- so look at the warnings of Winston Churchill who is you know course famously argued.
Had we moved and did and could we have moved earlier.
-- not not not one person would have lost his life if we had responded to this but as with every -- and -- every.
You know you sort of -- -- power it was getting further and further -- -- are we -- that stage now with -- We have been of that station sometime.
People -- Obama's people -- military most civilians.
-- telling us you know there is taking out those -- now is not going to be as easy as it was with the Israelis when they took out Sodom Hussein's nuclear facilities.
Why do you see them there because they're spread out and apply Soledad it's just the -- and spread out.
All -- -- spread out there -- deeper underground.
And that the Soviets of course supplying them with military equipment with -- to shoot down planes to detect -- -- war.
But the what looks to me that's -- that's one of the reasons why the vision of acted earlier because Obama is proceeding and they're very leisurely.
Half hearted -- with so -- sanctions.
You know that nobody in his right mind thought -- were actually gonna stop the Iranians million nuclear weapon.
You know -- drifting along and that's when they started this forest there were putting them underground now hadn't had either Israel organized they struck -- -- point.
It would have been a lot easier than -- now.
Now we -- still further confident in our intelligence reports which by no -- -- infallible.
That Iran is a year away away if they think they're -- they're a year away of their three months away what a difference that makes.
-- once they have the bombs than the price goes up.
Exponentially.
Because now attacking them and -- -- nuclear holocaust beginning -- Middle East and by no means confined to the Middle East.
I have seen -- heard analysts who look at this region not -- say.
Well -- now they've actually made a virtue out of necessary angst here to say well you know Indian -- they get it.
But it's not in their interest sue -- blow up the regions as they blow themselves up and they're not crazy.
Say what you well that they're they're not gonna do that and there are plenty of nefarious powers in that region that have this capability and they haven't done and so what's the big deal.
One of the big deal is Iran is the world's largest sponsor of terrorism.
And the people who -- airplanes and -- World Trade Center also knew the bill gonna die and they did it anyway.
So I don't think that's necessarily.
-- you.
-- -- is not the Soviet Union.
The Soviet Union knew that if they wouldn't -- -- New York off the face of the earth within the hour Moscow on Leningrad would be wiped off the face of the earth so they.
-- same fear competitive bids martyrdom -- results.
So -- the government that the suicide bombers -- -- to deter.
So you run you read about that but -- is is it your sense that -- kind of called our number that is the Iranians.
And that we've got mideast -- -- -- Iraq and Afghanistan.
We had a they know we that it would they know that there's really no appetite for this sort of thing.
And dared to us.
You know dangling all of us in front of us.
Oh absolutely have and I love it when they say they're about ready to talk they're gonna talk two years ago.
They're gonna plug in the Bush Administration.
They're good quality damage felt like going to.
We're now that this some -- some possibility of some serious military action there -- -- should doubted talk it we will sit there and talk while they can bridle on building.
Nuclear facilities.
Or why not.
-- would Hitler was -- -- was wonderful of this kind of stuff.
He would go but it -- some drastic action and then all of what does that -- signs so much what are your nonaggression right.
And people of the west with that sounds good twenty years of these.
-- -- You know you look that is doing it I guess he was -- Lewis shot at after one.
Take over to another after one and presents and that he was shocked that certainly England hadn't moved sooner that he thought well -- government's gonna keep -- All the well he was shocked when England found it didn't move look at though they were never removed ride at -- and that's one of the things to.
But -- and that's one of the problems I mean we we don't want a way to the what what we see we have no choice.
But the go ahead and kill all -- of innocent Iranians.
Just to get rid of the there's this country's nuclear weapons.
Again -- the longer you wait the higher the price goes.
And it goes very steeply I mean -- do we use that was a time must certainly when that -- -- to the Rhineland.
Where -- himself new.
That the French job removed the German army at that point had nothing they could stop them go from four won't move right in what the behind of the troops went in with orders to withdraw at the first sign of -- -- The French could have saved you know to millions of millions of lives but they were cautious.
And and I've always believe there -- some point beyond which cautioned becomes dangerous.
That is very will put Thomas -- themselves and other -- we're gonna come back to Thomas so.
Celebrated author is Stanford economist at all and we're gonna go -- so what's happening on Capitol Hill if you don't mind getting back to periods financial interest here.
And Republicans may be -- opportunity.
To go right back at the president on getting this debt under control one senator has Rand Paul with a plan to eliminate the deficit in five years.
But he's not getting a lot of people growling around and even within the Republican Party.
Appointed Thomas -- are Republicans boxing.
Right now.
After this.
