So leading economic indicators continue to show that positive signs economy seems to be improving here we got the 8 jobs report this morning another sign of that as we've been talking about.
Now of course all this is happening in an election year and joining us now is Texas Republican.
You can only.
From.
While Texas I believe we're -- government policy -- editor it's always great to see you.
We had a congress that on a moment ago with an economist -- what's birds on the shelf.
And he said to us if the Republicans are thinking about now in this environment running against President Obama.
And saying and and basically running -- bad economy saying you should elect dust that Romney whoever the nominee is Santorum because the economy's in tough shape they should think again come up with a new strategy and you say what.
I said the economy is definitely still an issue with gasoline prices through the roof.
Unemployment at 8%.
For three straight years are you kidding me.
We got to do better than that we can not continue to accumulate debt that is scaring people to death.
We need to open our capital markets so that our small businesses can hire people.
If people think that the economy is not a problem they're not not out in America where I'm talking to people.
He doesn't think it's not a problem I just thought it was interesting -- not a political strategists obviously but he's also not a liberal guy it seems like.
-- would probably agree with you on a lot of issues he just thinks the Republicans.
And this is why we think it's actually think Republican since the mid term should come -- and say hey -- since we took over the mid terms.
Economy's getting better we're trying to shrink government and make that argument.
Rather than run against the president who can counter it and say well the trend is going in the right direction even though those things that you just said are still -- Well I think his point is well taken.
Certainly since the house was taken over -- Republicans we haven't seen any disasters bills like Dodd-Frank and the Obama care.
We've been able to stop the bad stuff.
But with a debt that is fifteen trillion dollars and the president wanting to spend more and tax more.
My gosh we got a lot to talk about and I think.
I think the Republicans will be talking about gasoline prices the economy the unemployed and the huge debt.
I think he and I are probably say the same thing that -- was a little different emphasis.
And that -- and that and the emphasis is always the key though as you know and -- campaign to meet.
As we get closer and as the nominee and -- assuming it's Romney but it may not be but it was.
As we get closer framing that argument is going to be key -- the president some ways is going to be tough to -- this economic news keeps up in the fair.
Well I think the president's going to be tough to -- he is a good campaign Harry makes a great speech.
But I think his record on creating jobs and the record on spending and the increase in big government and regulation.
I think failed to around America.
And I think people realize that.
Fifteen trillion dollar debt while we're watching what's happening in Europe is unsustainable for America.
We have again started talking about foreign policy and they mistakes that are being made so.
I think there is going to be a very different.
View philosophy.
Between the Republican candidate and President Obama.
And I think his record is not one that I would be proud to run on.
Aren't there she is live from Dallas the S senator from Texas Republican Kay Bailey Hutchinson thank you senator for coming out.
