Miles and miles and miles left in the GOP presidential contest.

While Mitt Romney's got a commanding lead in delegates he could get.

A 100% of the vote in every remaining contest and it would still still take until mid may to officially make and the nominee.

But now that voters across 22 states have -- and many GOP leaders are calling for the party to unite behind this presumptive nominee.

One of those voices former New York governor George Pataki currently counsel at Chad born and part he's -- of the -- cap just endorsing him yesterday.

Why well I think it's time you just pointed out -- almost half the states have already held public referenda of some sort or another.

And while we've been shooting at each other in the trenches engaged in trench warfare president Obama's been able to pretend he's above the fray.

We're acting as though it's only the primary season this president has been acting as those the general election for the last year and a half.

So the greater good the greatest priority here is to take this country in a new direction beginning next year and that requires defeating Barack Obama.

And I think the best person to do that is -- ground.

And president has also been rainy raising a ton a -- in the interim just well well market -- that -- spamming every nickel they every and time they had been managed.

And you know -- and Rick him and Ron Paul of run very good campaigns made some good points.

But we have to focus on the price here and that as the country and that is taking this country in a better and different direction and I think Mitt Romney's personal do.

I I I hear what you're saying bit willing to listen to you with your endorsement and I was kind of surprised -- the way you phrased it here you are sure.

That -- it is not a perfect candidate.

He has a number of problems -- -- it's hard for him to for blue collar families like mine to identify with them it's hard for economic conservatives to identify -- them.

He needs to do more to reach out to the Latinos.

But I think -- the focus is a focus on that and -- defeating President Obama as opposed to winning the next primary end of the next stage.

So governor even you have a hard time articulating your support -- have some cattle yet and issues.

If you can't sell -- who came.

Now it's not a question of having a hard time I particularly my support I can give you dubbed the dozen reasons why I think governor Romney will be an excellent president but I want on the -- And you don't have somebody to win by saying -- you're great you're doing everything right.

And then the day after the election say you should've -- this.

So I am going to try to do everything in my power to help governor Romney get elected -- that includes saying that we have to do more to reach out to Latinos we have to do more.

To commence economic conservatives that this governor has an excellent plan to get.

These multi trillion dollar deficits behind us and to have a fair tax code and I'm confident he can do it.

I had no doubt he can do it.

Wanna talk about independents because they could be key in this election show you some numbers here.

Independent views of Romney 48% have an unfavorable view.

Of Mitt Romney.

Which is not a positive.

And you know I'm not sure santorum's ratings are any better what do they need to do here to get these people.

-- I totally understand because they have been watching.

A series.

Debates that have made it look like warfare on the Russian front during world war two and people get tired of all the candidates and over the course of 497.

Debates -- ever many.

There's not a candidate out there is not gonna say something that they wish they hadn't said during the course of this particular think governor Romney's record.

He got elected as a Republican in the state of Massachusetts.

That is in the -- that requires massive independent support and a lot of Democrat support so governor Romney has shown already.

He has the ability to appeal across party lines he's been focused on Republican voters obviously because of the primary season.

That's one of the reason I think it's important for us to rally behind.

Who will likely be our nominee so we are focused on the election.

Sorry about health care and other favorite topic of -- Santorum has been beating up on Romney.

Four obamacare as he calls a -- Santorum.

-- governor of Massachusetts who now -- signed in a government mandated health care system advocated.

Advocated.

For President Obama to adopt the Massachusetts plan.

As the -- template for obamacare which he did.

So how does that play with -- I mean you're not a fan of Obama here.

Obama -- of the worst law passed during my lifetime and I lead an effort to try to prevent it from being -- -- -- now to repeal it governor Romney has made -- -- That he thinks Obama -- is a bad law and that he will work very hard to repeal it if he is elected.

There is a difference between what states do and what the federal government to the tenth amendment -- powers to the state that the federal government doesn't happen.

Like building strong Carolina theater re saying.

You who created this -- mr.

-- you created this health care plan kind of headed in place I have a lot like Obama can't.

Eleven Massachusetts if I did I probably would be very unhappy with that with that the health care system there but I live in this country.

And governor Romney has made it plain he will work hard to repeal obamacare I agree with them on that I think guys senator Santorum agrees with -- on that.

We may have differences about what happened in the past the Massachusetts.

This election about what's going to happen in the future in America and I think governor Romney is right.

In committing to.

Repeal obamacare governor Pataki is made up his mind he's sticking to his gun -- -- -- today.

Thanks for coming -- it's always so legacy Jerry -- being with it thank.
