Want to spend twenty hours straight.

Talking on your Smart well Walt Mossberg did it quick joyous news.

RAZR Max areas from DC all things digital -- that personal technology comes of course.

At the Wall Street Journal I mean people -- as this just because I don't wanna talk to -- -- -- -- Tony -- smallest forty hours there are plenty people maybe -- to take advantage of this great battery life I'm sure.

I'll bet I could have a good conversation with -- in for twenty hours.

It would be asking you questions or Italy -- -- -- -- hasn't been.

I didn't actually have a personal from rare conversation it was a -- -- in the -- that was a simulated.

Test but it did it it did test the voice capability of this phone and the point is and obviously.

120 our conversation but that the battery on this -- which is called Detroit RAZR Max.

Is -- capable.

Of twenty hours of the voice calling.

It's -- beloved.

Up over twenty hours -- kind of mixed use -- the you know things on the Internet.

Email all playing video playing audio so forth and over.

Fourteen hours in my test of straight pure back to back video playback so other point is.

You know there's loads of these android phones they're very hard to distinguish from each other.

Motorola.

Had one called the Droid RAZR which was -- but again kind of hard to distinguish.

All these things from each other he took this -- RAZR they've put a huge battery -- it.

They made it somewhat thicker and heavier but still not too bad and they called the Max and it is longest.

Excuse me battery life phone I have ever tested.

The one that I guess the biggest sticking point that you point out in the column -- its price.

Right third they're charging you said there's a trade off and everything in check in and life.

And then the trade -- -- they're charging you about a a hundred dollars more for this.

-- -- the typical 200 dollar price for a Smartphone.

You have to pay 300 dollars to get -- -- with a battery capability they are throwing in some extra memory.

To help make it.

Worth it but.

The main reason the only reason I can think of you would buy this particular -- over.

-- and I phone or any the other android phones out there is that it really does have.

Extraordinary battery life and for certain.

Part of the population that is that is a crucial huge factor just.

You know -- may -- you know or maybe to speculation how many how high do people rank battery life normally in in their list of what's important to the minute Smartphone.

All I think they rank it quietly and you really get and he it's really interest in -- get all kinds of both.

On the android phone -- -- on the iPhone that I get.

I get through the day on -- fine I I'm not nervously looking at the battery indicator IDA.

And that's partly to you Simon Wi-Fi coverage lot of the day looking for cell towers all the other very very same funds.

-- -- in the middle of the after a kid make it home.

With the phone functioning and it's really annoys them so -- to my attention and I think there's a significant enough number of people.

Who either needed or would have deterrence -- forgot to charge -- but it's gonna be OK.

That it's worth it was worth and.

And -- in the -- while the capabilities of these Smartphones are have just grown by leaps and bounds but the as you point out -- Battery technology has not really kept up with them for the most part.

Do you expect that to be a focus.

For these Smartphone makers -- coming months and years.

Well it -- it's great question Damien eight it is a focus it has been a focus.

It if you look at apple for instance in particular they've done a ton of work on the software and the chips.

And the everything surrounding the battery as well as figuring out ways to put more of a battery into a relatively thin -- In this case Motorola has done something similar.

But.

Here's the one piece of investment advice I will ever give on this network.

Which is if you ever hear of a incredible.

New battery technology that really takes batteries.

Far ahead of where they are the way that we're used to with almost everything else in technology.

Sell all your other stock some by that data that that because.

Everything uses batteries and and the problem is batteries depend on physics and chemistry.

And they they don't respond.

The way that other things due to -- law -- you know which is that which is the idea that things constantly get.

Faster and more capable and yet cheaper.

As we go along batteries don't respond to that so -- -- for a company that reinvents as battery.

That's it.

It's a good point but -- the best banks won't love seeing you at Walt Mossberg and Walt by the way it will be in studio with us next week -- -- -- excited about that -- I'm -- to.

We are to probably a lot look didn't you architect of the hot spots American Idol Wall Street -- -- politically safe to say that at the.
