Time.
Well it is back to work for congress of what is on everyone's mind in -- ten well the budget.
Job creation especially.
New developments in the -- in the Keystone Pipeline in fact the pipeline.
On americans' minds as well was 67% in favor of they expected.
Republican senator Kay Bailey Hutchison -- pretty much all tied together.
For an exclusive interview senator welcome back to Washington and a Fox Business.
-- thank you Sarah.
What is good to see you so much to ask I do want to talk to you about that the Keystone Pipeline the president came out basically an approved.
Or seven he would support any way TransCanada proposal to build pipeline from Cushing -- call.
What are your initial take on this new kind of I guess -- from the president that you.
Well Cheryl I looked at the Wall Street Journal take on it and they called it.
And that's sort of what India is it's a double back flip.
In thinks it's not a bad thing that we will have the pipeline from -- down to the refineries in Texas that that can help some what.
But the problem is there's.
830.
Barrels.
Of oil that could come through the pipeline from Canada.
Every day.
That would be 34 million.
Gallons of gasoline every day if we ran it from Canada to Texas.
And it it just doesn't make sense that the president would turn down the the whole part from Canada to Oklahoma.
Because that's where we need the big amounts of oil to bring down the cost of gasoline.
It just doesn't make sense.
-- cases -- not enough for you what about the impact on jobs in particular in the stated taxes I mean we're talking about the gulf Port Arthur Houston Texas right there.
Would there be any benefits of this proposal which -- candidates your states.
-- there will be some because.
Cushing is a place that gathers I'll find different places in America and there would be some increase in jobs and it would be great.
But that jobs that we could have constructing the pipeline from Canada or in the hundreds of thousands.
This is a president who knows we have a jobs problem.
And it would be private sector dollars that would create these jobs not taxpayer dollars.
So yes we would probably get tens of thousands of jobs -- constructing it from.
Oklahoma the Texas and of course the refineries would be busy year.
That we could put the refineries to work.
24 hours today and we could bring down the cost of gasoline for every American if we could get the whole -- Pipeline -- senator the president came out with his proposed budget for the fiscal years -- you -- -- on the record as saying that your.
Not a big fan of what the president has proposed what are particular bothers you the most.
About the president's budget.
Proposal.
Two things number one it's going to increase deficits.
Even more so that our debt would go from the fifteen trillion where it is now 1028 trillion.
At the end of ten years that is going in the wrong direction everyone in America would see that.
And secondly he's going to increase taxes.
Not to help bring down the deficits and the debt -- It's still increased spending -- he's going to put almost two trillion dollars of taxes.
On top.
The deficits.
That we already see so it's a lose lose situation.
Just another one of the proposals the president has talked about floated around from taxation perspective frankly is on oil and gas companies again.
That is a major business sector are operating in -- state has stated Texas.
Have you had any conversations with any of the executives and Texas Exxon -- now Anadarko have you talk to them about what this means for their business.
If indeed some of the tax breaks subsidies they currently have this.
Here.
Know I really haven't but Cheryl here's the fact.
We should treat every business the saying.
We shouldn't pick and choose industries that we're going to raise taxes on every industry is able to write -- this expenses.
Oil and gas industry should be able to do the same thing that a manufacturing company does or.
-- retail business and that is you write all your expenses but we need is tax reform.
Where the rate goes down for every one and then you take away any kind of breaks or expenses are.
-- what -- it is fair across the board but bringing down that rate that's what would be the fairest way to go forward.
We'll senator Kay Bailey Hutchison welcome back to Washington welcome back to Fox Business nice to have you on the show -- senator.
Always thank you Sarah.
