Mitt Romney have what it takes to win 2012 or are his economic policies just radical enough.

And can anybody compete with Obama's fundraising machine joining me now Steve Forbes the chairman and editor in chief of Forbes media.

Welcome back to the show -- if you -- you know I didn't OK I hope understand what you mean here.

Yeah -- mid came out with I think a 59 point plan to fix the jobs problem.

He's got a tax plan he's talked a lot about the economy how is -- not being specific enough.

-- 59 points mean what are the 59 point to somebody said god only had ten.

Which he he should boil it down to to a three themes away Reagan would do are honest taxes week -- That he wants to cut the corporate rate great he's -- mumbled about other things next week he's -- -- -- Speech in Detroit he doesn't -- out something substantive way the other candidates have done in terms are really -- when this tax code making it simpler pro growth.

-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- Detail and have a -- For example Newt Gingrich is a 15% flat tax.

His chief opponent I hear Santa or flat tax I'm very I've -- about plus 4% 28%.

So Romney's got to get out there not just -- -- figure here -- there be specific what are you gonna do how he says he can create jobs.

He doesn't create jobs knows the free and a prices but what are you what Barry humor action remove.

To make this happen in a way that excites the electorate well.

And and that's a place we absolutely have to go now one thing Romney did say that's getting a lot of attention and not hold up positive.

Is he wants to increase the minimum wage.

In real time what do you make of this proposal.

What just shows he feels guilty about his success trying to show who might be rich but -- still compassionate.

Instead of vigorously defend the free enterprise system and made his success possible and laying out how other people can have a chance to do what he does.

On a small scale on a big scale that's on the jobs -- created by entrepreneurs not government bureaucrats -- stop being apologetic.

Be positive -- never would have done that.

Exactly and I think that's really good points -- huge difference in style and approach.

This -- you really have what it takes to win this election.

We're gonna see in the next couple of weeks he started to defend capitalism in the latter part of the Florida primary.

And he backed off of it okay he's taken a few punches -- come back and substantive way he just can't trash Santorum and Gingrich.

People are on to that central matter very funny at about that he's got to come up as they say with the beef.

You want to -- -- could be if that's your big question -- -- our.

You know Michigan coming up a lot of people are talking about that that's going to be key a lot of people had assumed assumed that Ronnie -- when that now -- and for the fight -- his -- we expect out of Michigan.

Well I think they got a wake up call the Romney people from Colorado where they -- four years ago thought they're gonna win easily this time got their heads handed to him.

So there's got to win Michigan and again -- can't -- -- with the negative bad he's got to do this speech in Detroit and come up with something.

Real that gets the -- sighted and shows the base he understands what free enterprise is about what this country's about the B has soul.

Well you know look is the problem Romney or is the problem that we've had too many candidates.

Fighting with each other look if you've got four candidates three candidates out there this late in the primary season.

-- -- in the position where there's just a lot of fighting going on everybody looks like an idiot while Obama is all over the country campaigning.

Well the problem is known it's been able to close the deal if Romney for example have found a way to get around Romney Karen Massachusetts which was the foundation for Obama care.

-- -- won this nomination.

He wouldn't do it so the basis questions about health -- questions have committed he has to real taxes they did not help but as you pointed out by the minimum wage.

-- and so what does he understand what free enterprises about if he can do that in the next ten days he'll be okay -- doesn't.

People are gonna look and you're going to see pressure again to get another candidate in the race even at this late date.

The -- how likely applicants are not vote clearly the voters are not satisfied with what they're seeing.

So from he doesn't get it together and Santorum can't close the deal -- next couple weeks I think you're gonna see.

The real move for an open convention.

Well are you -- possibility you've run for the office before you tell us something that you want to break some news there.

I wish I could maybe you could maybe you could run and those of -- -- -- Question on an -- now but the people who would've been pressured before like Jeb Bush liked you governor Daniels of Indiana and others.

They're gonna be under pressure again you gotta do -- for the country.

People are not satisfied with what we have there now while.

Brokered convention a lot of people say that that will depress voters even more because it seems very anti democratic you get a bunch -- guys in the back room deciding who the candidate is.

Voters have nothing to do with it wouldn't that be and negative for the Republican Party.

I don't think they'll be so much they brokered convention because who the leaders anymore and anyway not allowed to smoke anyway -- can't do and as she couldn't do they called.

And but I think of another Kennedy gets and went to primary -- two you can see a lot of support go for that candidate.

Well it's it's going to be interesting to see if that happens for a great year to be political journalists it's great to be a political journalists -- not a great -- -- so far are great here to be an American I mean we have so far to go I don't -- on -- Inaba the president was in Washington talking about you know what a great manufacturing company Boeing as you are Clooney.

Pop up and tell me what you think.

Well it's it's George Orwell and understand that having a -- Boeing now you go and say -- my dear friend.

I mean god father would have fun with this.

Absolutely -- just astonishing to me.

And I know a lot of people are upset about the fact that the presence campaigning all over the country on our nickel in -- Well that's -- incumbent still and he's done it to a fairly well done on steroids.

But again he can be beaten even though he's raised a lot of money.

He can be beaten and -- got backed candidate candidate have to be Reagan just understand what -- conditioning -- what's the name what's the name of the would make you happy I'm still looking -- -- look at dating service the -- I don't like them can be somebody else but.

But I think that that's it great answer.

Great to have -- he had been always a -- you have to come back.
