Welcome to follow the money I'm Eric Bolling speed Governor Sarah Palin was a guest on our very first show back in October 2010.
The topic was the importance of integrity in our public officials and that voice of integrity I'm happy to say joins me right now.
As my special last guest on follow the money tonight governor Pailin thanks for being here.
I wanted to treat our audience to the tell us you told us a great story -- tell us about the phone call you received when you first found out that Senator McCain was in its happy to be his vice presidential nominee.
I got a call while I was at the Alaska State Fair.
In August of 0:6 and am I think it's headed down a fair way amongst.
Many many people to go judge giant vegetables grown under our midnight sun up -- in Alaska.
Got a phone call on what myself always ends it was the senator asking if I'd be interested in discuss in the possibility of joining him on the ticket to run for president and vice president of the United States and I said absolutely just to immigration -- analyst Jack and tell -- What happened after that subsequent to that I I understand it -- you pack a bag and get on the flight yep and not to tell anybody I said well I will tell my husband and where -- headed.
And I got on a flight I believe it was the next day eight captain overnight bag and essentially.
Never returned home again I had had the overnight bad with me showed up in Arizona had a discussion with the senator and his wife.
And we hit it off and decided that that you would be the right thing to offer our sums -- many in the service to the country.
And then -- said the next couple years warbler.
Yes the next couple of years these these going on for years now head and then.
Quite busy quite fall I feel very very blast that I'd been given.
A platform kind of representing I think just normal everyday average American.
Who wants the best for this country.
-- -- after the 2008.
Election.
How did you feel.
-- Disappointed.
That Americans were led to believe it -- Barack Obama's big campaign machine and about 90% of the mainstream media going along with him.
They were led to believe that fundamentally transforming our country was going to be the right thing to do.
We were going to story from constitutional.
Principles.
And rules and -- And I think you can see now a reflection.
The it -- porn numbers in the economy a less safe and secure a country and world that we are and that what he meant by fundamentally transform America.
Isn't what the majority of voters thought we were to.
So the that the campaign near the Senator Obama is nowhere near anything like -- President Obama.
He the same person and I was disappointed that too many people work kinda shook her in -- thinking that what he was actually articulating.
Wasn't going to be what he followed through on and yet it was -- keep -- us -- he would fundamentally transform America he told us he told year old Joe The Plumber.
His economic philosophy was socialist because he said he wanted to redistribute wealth.
He's doing all that so I cannot I.
My disappointment was -- darn if we would have been able to ask camp seniors and asked people who had been given a platform.
In 06 had we -- able to -- -- fully explain to the public what we believed he meant.
Then we wouldn't be in the -- that we're in right now.
Governor after the election I went back to Alaska and then decided not to finish out your term a lot of the last gains.
They were let down because they loved you they love you as governor.
What do you say to those people well I'm still there and I still -- an Alaskan and I am still.
I'm advocating for the good things that -- -- need energy independence we have.
Tens of billions of barrels of oil underground sitting warehoused essentially not tapped yet hundreds of trillions of cubic feet of natural gas up in Alaska.
We are America's Fort Knox up there with our minerals and and our strategic location almost things that are.
Will be good for Alaska and as we responsibly develop what god has given us will be good for our country and I'm out there advocating for those things and I you -- -- still live there right.
And you hit that you get the trail he went get a through middle America he went all around and people realized you had it you had the ability to repeat unite people around your message.
When did you realize.
-- -- still haven't realized that Eric but at what what I have realized is that.
I you're calling us think there and we all and for the most part.
Americans who aren't part of that Politico bubble.
We we we government to work for us not against us we just want it off our back because we believe in the foundational.
Principles that built America and that is its independence.
It's.
An empowerment of the of the people so -- decisions for ourselves we the government right now that does not trust us to make decisions for ourselves not when it comes to health care.
To lightbulb -- gas mileage or anything else.
And I believe that my message just reflects those who believe that.
-- -- enough.
And we are are equipped.
It enough to make our our own priorities known based on the decisions that we feel best for our families our businesses.
All right governor in May not realize -- -- you have it I'll tell -- -- you have it but with its.
Comes the attacks comes the liberal mainstream media cool are the haters they drive buyers who.
Want to take shots at you how do you maintain.
Sarah Palin Governor Palin.
Uniter conservative -- maintain it with the drive by attacks.
They're really good question and I have two answers one on a personal level I'm political politically first.
You know it's easy to keep things in perspective and and to know how the game is played in the game is that that -- liberals especially liberal media.
They -- Defeat -- you are constitutional conservatives on the issues and we know what the constitution as we know what the enumerated powers are there in what government can and can't do.
We also know what the numbers are we see that government.
A dependency is increased 23%.
-- -- bombing and that 46 million Americans are living in party and thirteen million can't.
Find jobs and things are worse than when Obama took over.
So says they can't hit me on the issues.
Then the game that's played as they have to -- industry your reputation and perhaps your family and and come -- -- that we so political reasons I know that that's a way to games played.
You know I I can live with it I don't like -- when they do it to other people but when they do it to me.
It went when you know what you're dealing with it's easier to handle personally the way delicate.
I just read oversee other data kind of summed up for me in old testament how to handle and it's and we was Isaiah 812 and thirteen.
Basically it says get the chip -- and shoulder don't ever say that there's a conspiracy out there against B don't ever say that.
That you are dreading something.
Because if if you get into that mindset then life becomes drudgery I -- too short to be stuck in -- -- and -- to be bombed out.
So taking a burst like that and trying to live it out -- the chip off my shoulder remember what's really important life.
To me it's my family and I have -- well rounded diverse very full family keeps me busy.
It's my faith in god.
-- the freedom that I have as an American.
I know what really matters so all that other staff can go away so the confidence of knowing your right.
-- -- that's the bottom and right you've.
