Two are very hard working families and and everybody needs that relief.
The question -- is how do we deal with the challenges we face.
When we have a fiscal crisis.
That is that is imminent.
So that was always -- the challenge that we face together and we decided to embrace an alternative plan.
That allows for the fact that that payroll tax cut extension will be funded from the general revenues and we will continue working from there in Mena.
In them weeks and months and years to come.
-- as -- as you know your colleague congressman Tom price of the conservative.
Republican study group tonight saying that this is a problem for a lot of folks that is not paying for the extension.
Where do you suppose the Tea Party and and the the ardent conservatives.
Are coming down and how much of of an obstacle do you think they might be how supportive do you think they might be.
Well little let's let's look at that the facts that we have.
The pay -- tax revenues go to find this in this case the Social Security trust fund.
Those are committed.
Funds they will be utilized the idea of Social Security.
Is that folks.
Pay into the Social Security fund and then they receive those benefits back.
When they reach retirement age so -- the fiscal side you can understand the concerns.
We balance those out pragmatically.
With the fact that we desperately need to have a better economy so I unfortunately until we get that growth that we need and we have a lot of plans.
To achieve that growth.
People need that relief and they need that it was Simpson on a practical basis we're trying to reach to that agreements.
Across party lines.
Let's say that I -- -- congresswoman.
What about those parts Tom price is talking about those other folks Tea Party conservatives conservatives.
-- do they require further persuasion in your judgment right now.
Well I think they deserve to have our respect and -- out of course our.
-- prominent voices as we go forward it's my understanding that heritage action.
Has endorsed that alternative approach -- extension of that payroll tax holiday for another ten months.
And -- flow into the Social Security trust fund from general revenues right.
