One -- business -- are moving away from Microsoft Office products.

And moving their work to the clouds will bad news from Microsoft good news though for Google for more on this trend we're joined by rob named -- CEO of back up -- five this is a cloud based backup service provider the company just release date on companies.

Migrating from -- S office.

To Google apps.

Welcome TCU did this survey and you found that not just small business is mom and -- -- shops but beat businesses are now migrating.

To Google apps as opposed to Microsoft Office would he think is behind this.

Well.

It's it's interesting -- I think there's a perception that everybody -- moving to -- collapses is a small company it's a mom and pop any person shop we've seen.

A lot of 101000 person companies come some even larger than that did have moved to Google apps and I think it really stems from the fact that.

The cloud enables you -- collaborate from anywhere -- cross platform it's it's cross device so com if you have a distributed workforce it's an ideal environment for your email system.

You know Google just made waves last week announcing come march 1 they're gonna get rid of a lot of the privacy controls in Google itself is gonna start monitoring users.

Everything they look at it you too big email they sent it can't be kind of a problem for this trend that you're -- I mean is not a significant risk.

It is a risk it's a little bit of a PR concern I think for Google but if you remember when Gmail came out in the mid two thousands.

People had the same concern and you -- had no problem with adoption and I think you'll see the same thing happen in the business space I think.

People realize that at the end of the day it's actually good for them -- Google's gonna deal this extra integration because they're gonna get a better user experience.

-- how you see it.

KKR is Google does -- to be able to monetize this and you know sell the information to advertisers but I I don't wanna go there wanna focus now on the other side what it means for Microsoft and if you work.

Businesses are using Microsoft Office what it means for Microsoft -- just been struggling lately it's really been dead money if you will look like you characterize it that -- in terms of stock price.

Yes -- Microsoft was a little late to the cloud game I think rightly so because they had this exchange franchise that they wanna protect but they've been very aggressive about getting into the space now.

And most of the big companies that we see they're moving to Google apps are also looking at Microsoft Office 265.

So.

It's too early to tell who's gonna be the winner there but I I think it should be an interesting battle the watch between content -- other -- OK so -- ask you guys why you did this survey back up a fight basically.

Offers online backup services on.

The clouds so how are you using this information that you found to better your business.

Well one of the things that we found is that -- a lot of people think I'm not sure need to back -- -- data when I go to -- -- -- does that for me my cloud provider does that.

But -- -- your most important business asset and I user Ayers 13 of all data loss across all platforms so what we're really trying to do is -- Tap into this and make -- news and out raise awareness of they need to control your data even as you move to a cloud environment.

What is it about the cloud.

Is it cheaper to store dated there and news is that really what businesses are going force and then.

Raises a question for someone in your position if it is cheaper to use cloud services how do you make a significant profit that way.

Well I think what's really driving cloud adoption is not the price I think it was in the early days if you look at the people adopting Google -- two years ago to primarily doing it for cost -- reasons but.

-- if you look at it now it's just so much easier to get up and running the maintenance costs are so much lower because somebody else is maintaining your application infrastructure.

And so I think the way to you make money in that space is but providing value added services on top of what the cloud providers -- -- A case of the top four industries according to your survey using Google apps right now you have nonprofit and professional services number one about 22%.

Software Internet 18% municipalities HR.

And staffing.

What do you make of those findings you don't have a lot of fortune 500 companies and their yet.

We don't but I think what you'll see is is more of them are trying to -- then you would think -- we've talked to some of those companies and dot.

Eight -- large companies typically roll it out in pieces.

I think that tech companies being number two is a logical.

Expecting expectation from from the survey because -- people very familiar with -- on the personal lines.

Rob may pleasure thanks -- --
