While back to follow the money we -- know Obama took a pass on that Keystone Pipeline deal right.
So now Canada's prime minister just signed a deal that old ramp up oil production and exports to China senator John Grasso joins us now sir.
We saw -- coming my friend we didn't we we talked about it if we in the United States don't want the oil we know China will take it right.
Well and they well they welcome it but look the president of the United States is jeopardizing the safety.
And the security and the strength of our great nation.
Why because he wants to pander to left wing environmental extremists who don't want this pipeline built.
These are good American jobs it's hurting our economy this is oil.
Close to home so it's hurting both our energy security and our national security and China saying.
If the United States doesn't want it we sure do.
It's senator.
It and we look back and we look at the cylinder scandal with a -- -- -- -- are major taxpayer dollar losses.
Beacon energy.
-- -- this week just announced that they're gonna lay off people as well we look at how fast those things got pushed through the system they are signed off that that Steven Chu signed off on those loans.
Yet it's been -- the -- year.
Work in progress of the XL pipeline and they still can't seem to get it to say here's a private project it's not gonna cost the taxpayer dime to deal but they don't like that -- You know Eric you and I both watch the president during the state of the union read from the teleprompter.
That he supported and all of the above approach to energy.
But he sure doesn't want this energy that's in Canada are northern neighbor.
Who may want to sell it to us we want to buy it and there are 20000.
Jobs connected to the construction of the pipeline.
Plus you know the stories that it looks like gasoline prices by Memorial Day may be up to four dollars a gallon average price.
Nationwide.
Americans are gonna suffer pain at the pump and what does the president do he says sell it to China we don't need you so.
Canada and the prime minister is saying.
That the United States is not a reliable business partner for this and for other areas of trade.
Met senator that that we need to point something else out through this is Canadian oil the reason why we're even bothering with Canadian -- is because we won't drill our own oil here so.
First line -- defense against them.
Foreign dictators Middle Eastern.
Crazies would be drill our own oil oil second line would be import more oil from -- in Mexico.
All I'm saying notable for those.
Well and we should be exploring for more energy -- sure.
On federal land and in Alaska but the president continues to put up the stop sign to American oil.
And what as a result we're doing is we're sending more dollars to Venezuela to to Saudi Arabia.
We are more at risk for action in -- in the in the gulf when this when Iran threatens to to -- two block the straits of her moves.
Those things impact of the price at the pump in the United States -- -- I guess you -- makes no sense.
I gotta go but I have to point something out based trade natural gas for -- -- for twenty years a -- natural gas.
While I was trading natural gas -- traded as high as fourteen dollars per MNBTO probably average for the twenty years I was there.
Ten maybe nine dollars per MM BTU.
It's down to two dollars and fifty cents per MM -- that means the more we find -- we're finding more the lower the price goes it's simple economics.
Gotta go last thoughts are.
Well it clearly affects the quality of life of American families what they pay to heat their homes what they paid -- drive their vehicles.
And as the president said when he was running for office he -- under his plan electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket Eric they have and thank you so much senator Brosseau for next.
