The SE -- use the Service Employees International Union and is trying to organize home health care workers all across the country saying about technically state what is -- the I joined the company is Vincent but in general would be Competitive Enterprise Institute in Washington this looks like back.
Dole unionize -- nation because you've got all these and there's lots of them hell home health care workers.
Essentially they do indeed work for the states -- the SCI you said hey you -- for the sake you gotta be unionize.
That's what happened.
Well not really not quite Stuart and I you know I bet -- -- shocked shocked to find out that the SC IU was using back door underhanded tactics to get forced dues paying members.
And using their political war chest to get politicians to -- well is back dual pressure -- -- Well it's not exactly pressure it's more deception at first they gotta give a big hat tip to the Yankee institute -- Connecticut who -- first brought this story -- -- What they're doing is the governor of Connecticut signed an executive order last year to make health care workers home health care workers.
And daycare workers considered government employees and opening them up -- unionization.
Now to add insult to injury he's allowing card check unionization.
So let me tell you what the FC -- was doing.
They're sending.
Nondescript mailers to -- home health care and daycare workers which previously either consider themselves independent contractors or self employed.
Making them look like junk mail.
And most of these employees are these independent contractors and self employed people are saying well now I don't work for the state the ripping it up to throw him in the trash.
And the union gets in by a majority of those voted so every time somebody who -- up that mailer throws in the trash can cost of up to eight.
Hundred bucks a year ago -- -- second who pays these home health care workers is estate.
Well it's the state gives vouchers is facing a -- jobs state Medicaid Medicare programs things like that reimburse.
But they're not employed by the -- actually employed in the ones that are independent contractors are employed by the sick people that that they workforce so that -- -- there.
If if you looked at it really honestly.
And you could decide that they are indeed really de facto state welcomes it's just a political switch by the governor of Connecticut that's all it is.
Exactly.
And you'll look over to love Michigan which -- had a deal that -- by the way it was another local think tank out there the -- not censor that blew the lid off this one.
And then try to organize home -- daycare workers as well as home health care workers like they're doing in Connecticut.
And most these people said what what -- an independent business owner I have kids coming to my house and I'm running a business.
I get checks from the state because that's some low income kids get vouchers but there is no way that I am a state employee.
Well the last governor before this one Jennifer -- -- said while again maybe you -- state employees and she pulled the same scheme.
Luckily Governor Snyder said while hey wait a minute this isn't Kosher and you next -- okay.
-- -- show thanks for joining us as always appreciated thank you Stuart thanks.
