It's gonna charge you 112 hours and -- -- 26 miles.

-- I've gone if you him down eighteen.

So I got a call from General Motors a couple of weeks ago and they said they'd noticed that was hard on their electric car the Chevy Volt on -- And asked if I would meet with them.

I agreed during the meeting explain the issues I have with a car first GM took fifty billion dollars in taxpayer bailouts UAW has put in front of investors.

The -- 500 dollar credit for buying a vault all reasons I couldn't find it in my heart to be positive on that -- They told me how proud of the car they were.

My dumbest -- shareholder in GM so I would love to be sold on the car so I offer them a deal I said.

Let me drive the car for a week and I'll keep an open mind about the bulk.

But after two nights of charging the -- for twelve hours a car ran out of electricity in the Lincoln Tunnel both times my way to work.

There's -- change.

Now -- live less than twenty miles from work GPS has an eighteen point eight miles -- two or three miles for Dunkin' Donuts stop.

And the car on a full charge gets only about.

25 miles to the electric charge the car lists for 46500.

Dollars it's loaded with taxpayer subsidies.

And offered with a taxpayer bailout sorry -- I tried but the battery isn't ready for prime time.

Leave the experimental investing to the private sector my hunch the volt will be all gasoline powered in just a few years.

Joining now -- political strategist share did you call this along with the panel -- I couldn't believe it two nights in a row twelve hours full charge -- -- -- -- you saw in the Lincoln Tunnel both times switch from battery.

Two -- gasoline engine.

Yet that's that's pretty bad I think that that they probably regret that they gave you -- to drive because this is the worst advertising for them that they can imagine.

-- yeah this is the -- that it is.

And -- it it's chock full of tax Payer money the building of the card of the big did the putting assembling it and then that said he 500 dollar credit when there's a fundamental problem you'd you would expect that anytime you have this kind of new technology to companies rolling out they're gonna ask.

Some glitches you gonna have things that work well you're gonna have things that need revision.

And you know I'd I'd drive -- Tahoe hybrid.

It's not the perfect car I liken a lot there's a problem when you break that -- switch from that gas engine -- the electric engine sends you jumping forward we've had it fixed.

I expect that but what I don't expect is for us to be spending taxpayer money on those things had to try to fix them hey Doug Giles the -- they gave me 46500.

Bucks.

-- if you add the electric and the gasoline it only gets thirty miles to a gallon.

AI Eric did they make you Wear a neck or chip when you -- that thing the health and I.

Those are now 46000.

Dollars and you don't already have those are golf carts right.

What you should've done it brought it down here to Florida mean you take it out to a Lake Okeechobee and chase while -- through a -- what does.

-- or goes it's very -- of the ground -- but -- I feel bad it's a nice -- at all but.

If maybe if there's a 20000 dollar car that didn't take taxpayer money -- had to be made.

I take heart that only gets you a couple of miles when it's -- I mean -- had -- fund that I would turn and to their maker before.

It that that are just as bad this is that this is what happens when you have the government bailout does is -- happens when there's no accountability.

And and again I think that it's a great service that they -- and I inadvertently by giving you this car for a week in many Mercer petitioners are -- bank of investment it -- I got twice secretary David.

Sure I would say -- simply don't wind does -- make a full survey and I'm sorry you went through the experience but as I and well being considered.

But -- you -- consumer reports.

In consumer reports the -- Has the highest car rating satisfaction.

Of 93 for gotta be all that owner's son does that rise.
