Now back to the big question in Florida.
Obama care vs Romney care.
Isn't really much of a difference Mitt Romney certainly want you to believe that there is a substantial difference between the two laws.
But my next guest disagrees he points to the current state of health care in Massachusetts for the answers.
Here now is Fox News contributor and good friend of the show.
Doctor Marc Siegel doctor Siegel it's a pleasure welcome here but this is for first that the medicine.
How has medical care or the practice of medicine.
Deteriorated in Massachusetts.
Since Romney -- came into existence about 45 years ago.
Emergency room visits are up 9%.
More percentage of patients -- go to the emergency room unnecessarily.
Wait for physicians is three to four months for -- primary care physician.
It's at least that the specialists and this is in -- state that has the best medical care in the country available because of Harvard -- Boston University try that North Dakota.
All right how employers.
Tended to lay off employees or hire them as if they were outside contractors.
In order to avoid having to pay.
For health care too expensive for them to afford absolutely judge the amount that employers are paying -- up from about a thousand dollars per to about 12100 dollars per employee.
That's too much for most employer who employers to bear at a time when the economies aren't you are not the typical position because -- not only practice medicine and you can study it.
You speak on -- you -- -- at a very very prominent medical school and you watch the role of government in Madison.
He -- my -- the premise of both of these laws Romney care and obamacare is the same.
Government can micromanage some of the most important things that we do the care of our bodies can you accept or reject that.
I totally reject that there's not much difference between the federal government being overly involved with the state government being overly involved.
You know what they're doing the promoting something that's based on overuse let me explain -- mountain.
You know the patients in Massachusetts only paying 6% out of pocket right now.
That's the -- -- free enterprise patient should have to pay something for their healthcare could then they -- -- disincentive for -- -- -- are you telling me that people go to emergency rooms for non sense because they don't have to pay for it you better believe that and -- especially -- with Medicaid by the -- one thing that.
Governor -- not talking about is the Medicaid expansion.
Is there at the heart of Romney care just desserts at the heart of obamacare I guess whose -- pay for that the federal government is so is there any.
Substantial.
Difference.
Between Romney care and obamacare.
There's only one judge and you know what it is it's the individual mandate being unconstitutional.
Under obamacare I buy that.
I'd buy that it's a violation of federal constitution.
But I don't buy that states have a right.
To put forth on there with their patients and their doctor something that doesn't work that doesn't provide access to medical care then zooms cost of the premiums in Massachusetts are among the highest in the country.
And the government in a Massachusetts is now spending one point seven billion dollars for Romney care.
But it was a billion before it was a billion a year for health -- before on the and is there any doubt and it's nearly doubled doctor mark -- it's -- pleasure thank -- such good to see -- up next democratic strategist.
