-- -- -- it promotes are down South Carolina the President Obama fighting for cash out of LA Hollywood's top lobbyist.
Former democratic senator Chris Dodd threatened to pull the plug urging others in Hollywood to back out of the White House does it back anti.
Piracy legislation.
My credible way is a big time movie producer who might know a couple he's named rocky Black Swan aren't bad.
I guess nominal success anyway -- how big a deal is this going to be.
I don't think it's gonna be a huge deal quite frankly because it it's.
Usually in -- whom right I mean who's competing in -- in the arena.
That's number one number two I I don't see.
You know I think Hollywood is not a one issue town.
No more then.
You know.
Any other town for that matter what any -- liberals now as an and I say say it's a largely Leu well I mean you know if at.
You do have -- -- nowhere Fox News and it really emanates from it you know facts corporations basically right here in.
In California and -- -- do you say that that's liberal.
In a company I mean facts in -- Hollywood's about making money you know they could care less what the politics are all right now I know you heard -- what to do but you don't -- -- -- leaning to the -- -- I think there -- people here who.
You know socially are probably mar liberals and there are conservative.
-- -- But on this issue that I do are -- that in the end we're all pragmatic about.
Our finances I think you're right about that for the most and so.
They're getting worried that when it comes to the contents and as a kind of stuff that they put -- -- -- including your -- movies when it.
That it could be just you know a free for all right and and and that's a big worry right that's a big money maker that could be called into question.
Well there is there is a freefall from -- you know I whenever I go somewhere whether it's in China now wherever else.
You know they have a videos something that -- done.
Even before it's out yeah that's where -- -- my you know that's clear Botswana stories is that but I'm kidding I'm glad I'm getting society should should it probably notice -- -- -- My -- version.
Now I mean I think look where we're operating in a completely new world I mean the thing that's important -- I think most.
People in Hollywood is you know the fact that they're number triggers.
You know pointed at -- triggers why -- -- in other people are worried about.
You know what's happening to the country in general I don't think anybody cares about this one single issue I -- I certainly right certainly doesn't.
I worry about -- so many in the media business in a different side of it obviously vigna.
Is you know I do is keep hearing content is king.
But content can only be king if if if there's a market forward -- paying for that content out otherwise you run out of the concept at.
So if it's just let me given away.
I that I know -- search engines their concern is if you.
Well you know a little cordoned off this this contents or what other content to produce you cordoned -- -- -- and censorship I see that.
But that is the bigger fear that.
Everyone's going to be doing stuff for free.
I'm amazed that you know people are waking up to this now mean the truth of the matter this is -- Out there for awhile I mean people -- you know that this piracy everywhere now let the depth of the piracy is.
Really hard to figure out but the truth of the matter is.
All of this new technology is gonna open up all floodgate of other opportunities for the for the businesses.
So you're not worried that this is going to torpedo what you digital and then that all of a sudden the financial value and worth of what you do is diminished.
But it's been as I said it's been diminished right everybody's watched the record business and what happened to the music business line.
In people don't wanna do you know that's certainly no -- we live that problem because let's face it the music business has been totally transformed and it's got big problems.
-- the problem of course here is that there is you know it takes a lot more gigabytes to put all of this stuff and copy it.
And the truth of the matter is that eventually people have to pay for content and some form or another.
I mean I just looked at you know this this thing that I think it was.
Telephone company brought out AT&T put out that they're gonna move the amount of money you Paper.
-- out.
From Tony five dollars to fifty dollars.
Yes term you know for 300 megabytes bet that you know that's basically the way it's gonna happen and eventually there's going to be some sort of arrangement.
Between this software makers.
And the providers.
And they copyright holders and that was our primary battles -- -- that much bigger than my crazy that market I understand.
Might very a big pleasure having you thank you very much.
Thank you for having me.
