Smart.

But don't really want to give up four fingers in your big title for it and I'm talking about -- you're in lot.

Wall is here to rescue you from DC all things digital with Walt Mossberg the personal technology columnist for the Wall Street -- -- Hello all -- you have by -- many euros how many euros or four fingers in your big -- I expect.

I've given it has stated here our heads up about 650.

Who couldn't agree on -- -- -- date and so most of these funds cost 200 boxer and the iPhone or anything else -- you found what it's not too bad for fifty -- is that right.

Fifty bucks and actually if you buy it online at Wal-Mart it's free.

Little two year contract and if you go to a Wal-Mart store it's.

And get this eighteen dollars and 88 cents I have no idea they think.

Came up -- that but it but T-Mobile cells for fifty bucks and it was designed to be sold for fifty bucks and it's interesting and not only -- of the price but.

It's a Windows Phone which as you know is the kind of newest.

Challenger to android and apple and kind of -- -- got a very late started doing this but it's a different looking operating system and Nokia is their main hardware partner for Windows Phone and they have and so this phone is the first.

Of the Nokia windows phones to be sold in the US.

A bike carrier it's T-Mobile.

So I took a look at I said to myself -- that let's take a look at this is -- what you get fifty bucks.

And the answer is it's not.

Nearly as good as an iPhone or Samsung galaxy or some of the elite ones that do sell.

For a couple hundred bucks but if you're moving into a Smartphone for the first time.

You're on a budget or if for some reason you do you -- you really are anxious to.

Have it -- -- experience with Windows Phone without laying out a lot of money I think it's a good value it's a pretty decent found.

Want to -- I think the exact phrase -- used in your column what is it missing.

Because that's what people are gonna ask right from right -- -- so it's miss -- does not have a front camera.

Most of these Smartphones now come with that standard.

So that you can do video Skype for some other video calling so it doesn't have a front camera.

The rear camera is pretty mediocre I would say.

It's -- -- -- it's.

It's it's not fantastic he can't be used.

As a hot spot.

You know a lot of these phones you can actually create a little a little Wi-Fi network with the font carrier laptops and things around you.

This doesn't have that in.

It only has half the memory.

The basic.

Entry level versions of all these more standard and familiar.

Smartphones -- eight gigabytes.

Could I should also I should also -- when that while there are many many good qualities in my opinion to Windows Phone as the system.

It only has about 10% of the available lapse that apple has and -- and of course Google has a lot more to.

But could this be the start of some sort of a job and have a Smartphone pricing war has to go back to the earlier point in every found same pricing you what you -- -- -- the sense on phone dimension is -- a box basically I know if you tried that.

-- -- more but to take 200 dollars you sign up for a couple of years and you take your phone is this the start of something different.

Plus it's a great point and and better but I would point -- it's not the start.

This has been happening quietly without much notice.

Now for a little while for you know I would say a year -- more than a year there's a bunch of the android phones that.

Are you a little older or again have fewer features and they're selling for.

-- About a hundred bucks there's a couple itself for in this fifty dollar -- you -- even less.

And even apple which you don't think of as low priced and which really establish this 199 umbrella.

Price umbrella you know they've they put the iPhone four which is not that old and looks exactly like the iPhone four -- That's now available it all three US carriers for 99 bucks.

And the iPhone 3GS which is from 2009.

But runs the latest software is free.

Within eighteen -- contracts written there in the game so I think this is an important trend of trying to push Smartphones.

-- lots of web capabilities and so forth.

Down in -- price bands were more people can afford them.

-- three -- three all -- Wal-Mart wal thank you so much it was great to see it was always welcome back we see you're glad to have you back on the east us.

Thank you Walt Mossberg it's right on the -- -- Consumer Electronics Show and.
