For more on the race for the Republican presidential nomination the Keystone Pipeline campaign finance the president and the forces administration.

We welcome -- previous chairman of the Republican National Committee -- good to have you with -- -- good evening -- First of all the decision.

Which was not exactly unexpected.

To kill the Keystone Pipeline.

Well you know it's just another chapter in the book on Barack Obama and jobs and saying one thing and doing another I mean I think Barack Obama as the guy that invented the phrase shovel ready projects and you know we've got a 20000 jobs shovel ready project ready to go and both Republicans and Democrats in the same page including Barack Obama's on.

Jobs commission.

That just to think yesterday or the day before came -- said hey.

These are the types of projects that you ought to be out there in front leading on and then the next day he comes -- -- -- kills.

That's wanting the -- and job.

Pipeline project that this country desperately needs and and we talk a lot of oil and gas independents and in here you go.

I have to believe that the White House political office wasn't too pleased with the timing of the jobs.

Commission report -- can't get much worse for the political office there that's for sure -- or.

How good -- it for the Republican Party on the campaign trail these days.

Governor Romney -- one moment seems to have it locked up the next seems to be threatened by Newt Gingrich.

You've had almost a half dozen leaders.

Front runner is in the campaign.

Where do you see the party now in the race for the -- nomination.

Sure well I think it's it's pretty exciting and I and that's why I think tough.

Primaries that have a little bit of drama and and and -- some excitement that comes with and a big primary I think in the end -- it's helpful.

And others questions that go back and forth as far as you know as this.

You know good for the party bad for the party in the end if you look at history.

Whether it's -- legendary battles between Lee Atwater and Bob Dole -- on bush 41 ultimately winning in bush and Reagan and and actually look at Clinton in.

And and Hillary -- Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama -- mean ahead.

You know I I gouging battles through the end of June -- national convention along the line in our dollar and you know -- And it's hit and it was a member remembered the 3 AM call -- who want answering the phone at 3 in the morning and she said not Barack Obama.

And then it turned out that he sailed the victory and took a pretty much a supermajority in the and the house in the congress who and the senate with them and so.

You know the idea that tough primary is that are that have a little bit a drama are bad for a party it's just not borne out in the history and facts -- and -- And it appears that candidates have no trouble forgiving one another further excesses on the campaign trail -- primaries.

-- -- have to be forgiven.

This time around it appears -- let let's take a quick walk.

It -- governor Romney's latest.

Add on Newt Gingrich.

Jim Talent.

-- -- House with Newt Gingrich.

She would make.

Outrageous comments that would blind side -- -- undermined our conservative agenda chaotic decisions erratic behavior it's a problem when you -- your -- leader is the biggest political problem that you're dealing with which is why we removed him.

As the speaker.

That's the kind of stop that.

You know that makes for -- -- very exciting campaign how do you react as the chair of the Republican National Committee.

Well yeah not I'm not gonna be the referee.

Of these candidates -- really not the place of and RNC chairman quite frankly -- And I know you you've spoken about the what's happen in this conservative movement across America I think the last thing.

Conservatives and Republicans want right now is the national chairmen or people from Washington.

Telling them what to do and I think it's up to the voters in new -- and South Carolina and Florida Nevada to make that decision and and we'll have a nominee soon enough and and and we need a nominee.

-- we didn't hear you here.

Funny -- defeat Barack Obama.

Before we get to the end of the process -- let's let's take a look at senator Santorum.

He's come up with a pretty hard hitting -- of his own if you will watch that share.

Obama supporter of the Wall Street bailouts.

So the growth.

The Obama gave this radical obamacare.

That was based on the role in the care.

We'll resume liberal on social issues room new ones and liberal than Ted Kennedy and social issues.

Line with the approval for someone who's just like Obama.

Well you alluded to the race between Clinton and Obama and that worked out pretty well it looks like -- pretty well.

On your way to perhaps even surpassing that of the Republican Party.

With the energy if you will of this campaign so far you are you pleased well.

Well listen yeah I think I think we're in great shape and and if you look at this president -- -- looking at a referendum on Barack Obama and we need to make sure we put a Smart articulate.

Intelligent alternative.

Opposite of Barack Obama but this is going to be about whether or not -- Obama fulfilled the promises and and met the standards.

That Barack Obama set for himself and clearly no matter highest slice and dice that -- this president hasn't -- his promises in regard to jobs.

It taxes the the deficit the -- you know hanging around with a lobbyists that cost of health care.

I mean I can go on and not an oil in the seven minute hit but the reality is.

There's so much.

The run on in regard to this present as far as what -- said it.

And what -- accomplished that I'm very confident that we're not only gonna beat Barack Obama we're gonna take a lot of people with us back to -- and help save this country.

Price thank you and -- seven minute.

Discussion.

Turned out to be eight.

There were delighted to have you didn't even -- nine or ten I don't mind lululemon giant -- well I and I know you are as are millions of Americans but I have to be via.

The bad person here -- and and and follow the -- thanks so much for being with -- right.

About -- thank you we'll pick up on the remainder of the time.

Right through.
