To cease attacking each other.
And instead talk directly to the American people.
All right well it's Jon Huntsman telling -- GOP colleagues is time to stop the infighting -- rally around Mitt Romney but will that and more importantly.
Will they tell their supporters to open their wallets for bit -- as former congressman.
That's good Gingrich supporter JC watts what do you think -- will will they come together if if -- is the overwhelming winner on Saturday.
Well I think it but he's overwhelming went on Saturday I do think there's going to be some candidates is gonna have to make some decisions just because.
Cash and try and continue on that I think when you look at the numbers David.
The perceived front runner at this time.
Actually asked for delegates.
And you know you've got to get to over 11100 in order to win the nomination and so what -- four delegates going in the South Carolina.
The numbers don't add up to say that if you've got the staying power there and he should stay but I do think.
About the ended January we're gonna ever have pretty good visibility -- where this thing is going.
I think so but after all the bad blood -- these these attacks.
I know you've been involved with tax and I know Richard favor bit you know -- just -- lot of bad blood it it got.
Much nastier than it should have gotten don't you think.
Well I'm I'm in favor of that Newt Gingrich -- had most of those super pac ads run against and I understand and it's.
-- I went out now no no no it it has gone both ways that I think you almost have to.
Just for you supporters in trying to get your message you almost have to.
-- album in order to tail.
The other side of the story or the rest of the -- and that's an equity -- -- about it I'm not so sure David -- they're good for the political process but.
They are what they aren't until something's -- the bottom of the law exchange they aren't -- they are but JC even if they aren't as -- candidate.
And then there's a message there there individual messages about how you would -- -- taxes are.
Are what your views are social.
But then the overall meant to overall.
Say for example that does this sort of worked at Bain Capital is doing is is bad for this it I mean that seems to be.
Big message that that is something that -- that -- administration could use.
But let David -- or just say that we shouldn't tax the rich is is.
Governor Romney is that I I think.
You know Newt Gingrich as you when you look at his record he's when he was speaker we we had a balanced budget we paid down our public debt we have tax relief.
We had entitlement.
Entitlement reform.
David these all the things the American people are clamoring for.
We we want we want to be about message we want to talk about ideas Newt Gingrich gets.
You know biggest -- to say you know -- has too many ideas.
We need Ronald Reagan jet killed.
Kind of ideas to -- -- from from where we -- -- they do where we need to go so.
No that's a good record I would much rather talk about his record and and not be talking about these super pacs because I think that's what gets him to.
Well you talk about Jack that you and I both love Jack camp but I'm sure he is rolling over in his grave now that is seeing ads put out by Republicans saying that that the work fit that Bain Capital does is anti American.
I mean I just that just strikes me is as -- by the way.
-- -- -- No no you're you're right Ronald Reagan -- go for that and I don't think Republicans.
Should go for that you know but Newt Gingrich last week David ask.
That the super -- although by -- you can't have any connection to on the candidate can't he ask -- super -- the super -- supporting him.
Not he has but the -- supporting him.
He asked them to continue -- to correct the record to you know to take that.
Out of ads and and I would hope that you know Ron Paul -- governor Romney would do this because and yet.
We are country up ideas you know Google than -- in -- -- and all of that we see in the information highway today.
-- all that began with an idea.
So let's talk about how do we go from here to there as opposed to all of the silliness that we see in the negative ads that they knew would love that.
JC I gotta switch topics just first -- because it is Martin Luther King Day and I'm I'm wondering about your involvement in in both the conservative movement and in the civil rights movement -- you've had a foot both worlds would would Martin Luther King you think B is dismissing the black conservatives like you is a lot of civil rights leaders -- No no I don't do as a matter of fact -- -- you know Doctor King was an inspiration to me and you know he stood very strongly on this may.
And believe down his faith encouraged him his his belief in scripture his belief in America.
Encouraged him to believe that JC watts could run for congress some -- and and could be elected in and you know he was not about.
You know that all the craziness that we see he was about.
Best models Beck's best practices.
You opportunity.
For everybody.
And I think Newt.
You know don't -- and I hope my my liberal brethren don't throw tomatoes -- -- but I think -- it captures that.
Better than better than any candidate that we have on the Republicans that I going -- the black.
Church on Saturday night he got criticized -- that let me tell you David.
Republicans conservatives should go to black churches we should go to white churches we should go to.
Churches of all flavors if we believe that our models.
Are the best models to give -- -- where we are.
To where we want to -- so.
So no I don't think Doctor King would be as dismissive.
I think he would be supportive of that.
JC watts wonderful to see you JC thanks -- for covenant appreciated please thanks for having me.
