Results are and from the New Hampshire primary and that -- that Mitt Romney -- a large victory Ron Paul coming in second and and Jon Huntsman.
Coming in third they moved to South Carolina who will survive after that.
Well that's the question as Romney seems to be campaigning president and the others are all vowing to stay in and -- the Republican nomination.
Good morning and welcome to this Fox Business special report.
-- Tennessee our director of business news here -- Fox Business joins us now live.
-- it take a look at what the Romney victory New Hampshire means but also.
-- recent attacks re about jobs and they came from Republicans who took what sounded like democratic.
-- did the way that Obama will be attacking mr.
Romney should he actually get the nomination why would they do that.
Yeah it's it's fascinating to I don't know I mean this is this populist move in this feeling that.
If you can attack somebody for creating for for creating wealth and a certain way.
You're somehow gonna win and and you've never actually heard that really from the right before you've heard from the left and that last night.
As Romney sort of solidified his lead in in this race.
He started to hear some do the more liberal elements start to say.
Well we're not against the way you were -- -- the fact that your making money where it's the way he made money in and and I guess that's that's more typical.
But to hear it from people who are worried sort of in the mantle of conservatism was was was unusual and a little troubling I think for a lot of mainstream Republicans still I think.
In a lot of ways it backfired on them because.
You know -- again -- Romney made it very clear in his acceptance speech last night that that he's he's going to be very promoting American.
Capitalist values -- think of how many times he compared.
-- bonnet of vomit to a European right you know the worst.
Europe and and talking -- looking for guidance from European.
Capitals -- what's that code for that's code for kind of the European style socialism that's that's gotten Europe into the trouble that attached.
And he's contrasting that with you know pure American capitalism so it's it's -- to be interest -- -- see how much he embraces that because let's face it.
You know yes.
What he did -- at Bain Capital destroyed some jobs and also created some jobs also -- some companies and that's what private equity.
Equity does it's a very difficult argument to make if you've got kind of this this populist noise out there -- Okay this -- made a lot of money needed on the backs of of of the little guy and we should let that happen but.
The truth is is that he help the little guy become a bigger -- I think part of his proposal and and I don't know -- he's gonna be able to start talking about his tax proposals which are cut corporate taxes.
Freeze I believe income taxes you know the rates they keep them from going up.
Will main street by -- main street looking for a cut in income taxes well if it all depends on what mainstream we'll get it.
Cut on income taxes -- in any if you if you're going if you're gonna turn around and say we're gonna freeze tax rates we're gonna do things that everybody benefits from that I think.
What what's gonna have really count for Romney is whether or not the economy recovers as as he's doing this whether or not people see.
A chance to to to do better -- -- -- you know irrespective of who the president is.
And and I think if you've got kind of the economy growing it -- -- needs yourself for Romney to say you know what you're starting get a little more money your pocket let me let you keep more of it.
The tax argument to very strong argument is saying to people.
We you know we want to make sure that everybody no matter what your income level is.
Has a tax break of of some kind -- is a very powerful argument right now and it's contrasts with the Obama administration keeps saying.
Let's tax terrorists attacks -- it's the problem is everybody here wants to be rich everybody here wants to be you know -- he wants to have more money.
Eight and so you know -- is kind of this aspiration all aspect of what Romney I think this is -- -- Kenneth sell economically.
That's different than what you're getting from from the current administration frankly different than what you getting from some of the other Republican candidate.
-- as we wrap this up ten mr.
Romney turned his history at Bain Capital into a success story I think the New York Times and certainly the opposition are trying to make it some kind of drag on his past but it is a positive -- and it.
Look to things I would go in there and I'd say look you know what private equity does at its best it goes -- finds an organization's broken it fires the management it -- its debt it cleans it up.
And it makes it better that's what I wanna deal Washington that's what I would be saying on the campaign trail on Mitt Romney the second -- -- He's gotten criticism for saying I wanna fire people of course I wanna fire people wanna fire the president -- should be -- message to.
There's a lot that he did in real world experience that can resonate on the campaign trail you can just get out of his only -- figure out how to how to turn -- to do it it's not a hard sell.
It really isn't.
Ray Hennessey director of business news thank you for joining us live you're always terribly so it's no surprise you would be -- -- I guess at some expense reports -- -- take a look at a thank you very much right.
