Tonight on the dock of the GOP primary race in New Hampshire grows tighter.
Governor Mike Huckabee and Kentucky senator -- all of our Rand Paul will be here to weigh in shortly.
Recent polls and governor Mitt Romney down to 38%.
In New Hampshire as congressman Ron Paul has climbed up to 24%.
Narrowing the gap between the two candidates this has to be unnerving to the Romney campaign.
Governor -- slide could be doing -- to any number of reasons.
From the Iowa model which of course he won by eight votes to senator John McCain's endorsement which is not a welcome development for conservatives.
Not only is John McCain not a conservative Republicans cannot forget that his inept campaign in 2008.
Arguably delivered the presidency to Barack Obama.
Does anyone truly believe governor Romney can fare better against Obama then Senator McCain did.
-- is governor Romney's meager support just due to a faith in what the GOP establishment.
Once the rank and file to believe.
Conservatives are truly worried that a president Romney wouldn't be any different from President Obama.
They share similar views after all on the Patriot Act on war on government involvement in health care and on taxes.
Shouldn't GOP primary voters look to a candidate who will be a true game changer.
Freedom watch as an open invitation to governor Romney to all the candidates for that matter to appear on this program and governor Romney's case to explain his record.
To a large audience of you small government conservatives and libertarians.
His campaign has graciously offered up one of his top surrogates.
Former New Hampshire governor.
Former chief of staff to former president George H.
W.
Bush John Sununu governor said no no it's a pleasure welcome to freedom.
Watch it's nice to be here but let me make the observation that just because you talk loud doesn't mean you talked accurately half the garbage you've just put forward.
Is absolutely wrong well let me just ask you this governor -- -- and -- And and I'm sorry that you feel that it's garbage but I'm glad you're here anyway I wish governor Romney we're here so we could have discussed -- this directly.
Governor Romney is in favor of the Patriot Act.
Governor Romney is in favor of the bush foreign policy governor Romney is in favor of the war in Afghanistan.
What's the difference during governor Romney and President Obama.
The difference between governor Romney and President Obama is one governor Romney was governor.
He cut spending.
He cut spending in Massachusetts.
Which is not an easy state to cut spending.
You're dealing with a state whose legislature thinks cutting spending is a more adults in.
He took a three billion dollar deficit down to a surplus he creates a rainy day fund -- reduces the size of government he cuts department -- combines departments.
And he's the first and only guy on this ballot.
That has reduced the size of government anywhere.
There's there's another governor Romney.
There's the governor Romney who used government to force health care and people.
There's the governor Romney who -- some of the most liberal Supreme Court justices in the country there's you know how -- Around Shanghai hang on there isn't -- governor another -- -- legislation.
Do have tax dollars pay for abortion where's that.
Earlier Monday yes yes that's the problem you don't know what -- talking about he did not pass any legislation.
To have -- government money pay for abortions.
The abortion issue in Massachusetts.
Unfortunately.
And I am a strong pro lifer and I support governor Romney.
Was imposed in Massachusetts by in 1981.
Well before he came in Supreme Court decision.
That set at at backed up by in 1997.
Massachusetts Supreme Court decision.
That said any health care provided in Massachusetts.
That has one dollar of federal money and it.
Must allow for abortions.
That's the law in Massachusetts not because of anything governor Romney did.
But because of what the Supreme Court in Massachusetts it did governor Romney do anything to change that lord no he didn't to -- -- and I'm lost -- -- -- I'll call -- for it -- is -- your decision of the court.
And the legislature.
At times in Massachusetts believe it or not was pro life tried to pass laws and the Supreme Court ruled them.
Unconstitutional.
In Massachusetts.
How does how how do you.
Feel about comments from and the conservatives as well was established -- Rush Limbaugh and George Will.
That Mitt Romney is not one of them.
Well I feel about it.
I'd put on the other side of that Dan Quayle vice pres the United States solid staunch first class conservative.
I put myself there solid staunch first class conservative.
Governor.
Of South Carolina Tea Party favorite solid staunch first class conservative and we can go on all night long.
People like that supporting governor Romney.
Governor when you were.
Chief of staff to -- -- president bush you suggested David -- to the Supreme Court.
David Souter of course supports abortion rights and and attacked property rights -- a conservative appointment.
Now it was a big mistake and you have to understand the process of appointing.
There is no way.
We would knowledgeably have appointed someone.
That believe that way when you go through -- vetting process and we had legal counsel that was as as conservative as any in history.
Go through that process and the record of David Souter and what David Souter told us in the process indicated he was going to be a solid conservative.
In order to if you will rubber stamp what we had been told he actually voted pro life.
On the first.
Life issue that came to the court and ever since then went the wrong way.
There is no way you can be sure of what you're getting when you appointed judge I'm on that -- -- -- you know -- -- I think you should have known about sir you worry after all no way governor no way what a monetary reason -- Hampshire -- soon as decisions in the Supreme Court New Hampshire.
Were absolutely solid conservative -- decisions guy Boyden gray.
And all the folks that vetted those came back impressed.
With how strong.
His conservative decisions -- why is it that Mitt Romney.
Can't seem to break north of the 25%.
Bar why is -- -- just use your time.
Revenue on a multi candidate -- why is it that -- here that's candidates in the race why is it that it appears that three quarters of Republicans.
Don't want him to be their nominee.
Because there are seven candidates in the race and until things -- down you don't have people approaching the majority's all you have to do.
Is go back and look at history.
What George Bush won in 1988.
In New Hampshire.
He won 3930.
With only two or three other serious candidates in the race so all of this -- That you guys -- thrown around out there.
Is designed to confuse the voters and the ought to be issuing the so what can I tell you I enjoyed having a lot and I enjoyed debating you I'm sorry it's such a hot head which are always welcome back -- governor thanks for joining us I don't mind being a hot -- you ought to be correct everyone's on the god bless you governor Rick Santorum and he's a conservative once the dictate what happens in -- --
