Fight to the finish is -- -- was reporting force earlier in the hour about this government's dysfunction in.
It Washington if you wanna put it that way and why not the house speaker John -- saying he predicts now the house will vote down a two month payroll tax extension.
Prepare try to make sense of all this to host a special report on the Fox News Channel joins us now we went into the weekend thinking well -- -- they'll get something done here and here we are Brett Monday morning what's next.
That's right -- -- it's always.
Interesting to watch the comings and goings on Capitol Hill and bad news coverage this morning.
By speaker Boehner in which he said this is no way to do things this is nonsense.
Talking about a two month extension of the payroll tax cut.
They are going to go for a one year extension.
And they're going to try to pass that in a separate piece of legislation the two month deal that the senate passed is likely going to fail according to speaker Boehner.
And what is next so far there's a lot of threats from the senate side.
That saying that if this in fact happens that the house will be responsible.
For millions seen their payroll taxes go up.
The house is saying they can they think they get to a deal for a one month extension we could be seeing the set up.
For the jettisoning.
Of the keystone provision which would really be something Republicans would not -- Aussie.
Yeah the pipeline.
Something they want to.
Have kept in their you know we are talking earlier this hour an economist come on and say this could be a big deal if they don't extend the payroll tax cut could be of 1% of a GDP next year or close to it which is.
You know a pretty big impact others of course have different.
Predictions but as we try to figure out what's next from where you see it.
Who has the upper hand in negotiating in this because at the end of the day it's all gonna come down to who can blame who for watt who was that.
And upper political -- and in an election years are any way to gauge that.
Well you know as it stands right now with the house holding this vote tonight.
They essentially are holding the old -- -- You know at the end of old maid and they're they're holding the one the you don't wanna half however of the house turns around and says no to that and then passes a one year extension.
Then it goes back over to the senate so we -- looking at a conference probably where they're going to have to work out.
The as they have all year long for being ineffective.
And that'll be date that would pretty much beat the the rallying cry or the slogan for the president that's how it marches and that this campaign is saying hey look at them I had a -- -- Definitely however his vulnerability is that.
Republicans charge he never took leadership he never embraced.
The leadership and saying congress we have to do XY and Z he -- of handed the keys over to congress.
And this is what they're getting back and ask you one more question -- before we let you -- and that would be about the other huge story.
That everybody's talking about today the death of Kim Jong -- and it North Korea I'll what can we expect or should we expect anything out of out of the White House in terms of the strategic -- -- comment moving forward from here.
I think we'll hear comments about this and how important this moment is.
It is precarious in that we don't know how this 27 year old leader it's hard to believe that he's taking over.
For his father how he'll react and we've already seen a couple of missile firings at tests that North Korea has done -- short range missiles but.
It is a a dangerous situation in the as you know we have 28500.
Troops.
US troops on the border there with South Korea and -- on alert so the US works basically through South Korea on this or maybe.
Or -- to some extent -- it directly with China to see what that's how the Chinese react to it which everybody seems to be waiting on and and maybe worried about element.
-- China's the big factor here they have the biggest role in this -- of the biggest influence.
In North Korea and from what were told China's already sent diplomats to -- with North Korean leadership obviously if that regime falls North Korea.
There will be an influx of folks heading to China and China can't handle that.
You have -- you're right about that -- thank you as as always.
Talked against him prepare Fox News special report tonight 6 PM eastern every weeknight on the Fox News Channel with threat now the best.
