Just as one government agency the ATF has charged with facilitating the sale of heavy weaponry to Mexican drug cartels.

Now another government agency is accused of laundering money for those same cartels.

The big question tonight.

That attorney general Eric Holder mislead congress on these hot button issues and why is -- -- culture in law enforcement that it can break the law.

Syndicated radio talk show host a good friend of the show Larry Elder.

Wonders if anybody in this administration has a clue Larry it's a pleasure as always welcome back to freedom watch.

But -- my pleasure thank you for having me of course the war on drugs is making strange bedfellows an awfully strange behavior.

You and I are not in favor of the war on drugs you and I believe the people should be able to do what they want with their own bodies but who -- -- -- engine.

That the federal government.

Which is charged with keeping guns in the hands of bad guys would send them there with preventing people from laundering drug money.

What actually do the -- so they could see where the money and stop it doesn't make sense to me Larry.

It's hard to say whether this is keystone cops or whether this is villainy judge.

But the whole thing is about the war on drugs and that's what -- what the problem is we're we've been fighting this war on drugs summing like fifty years and guess what the drugs have one.

Bottom line is freedom judge your program is called freedom march.

People when they talk about drugs want to do a cost benefit analysis.

The first thing to say is are we talking about freedom here whose body is it is it miners that the government if a bizarre society judge where.

You've you're a woman you -- have an abortion up to and included in the third trimester but the same woman ingests drugs to go.

The jail if Jeff wacky now everything that you just said.

Everything every articulate argument -- that you just made you are protected under the First Amendment for making.

But if you were a hot -- if you were a narcotics officer you could lose your job.

For making that argument we've had on this show cops who know and understand the futility of the drug war who told us about colleagues who open.

-- for saying what you just said.

We're not that's not uncommon -- for there to be a a different between how the guy on the street cop on the street feels vs the brass.

Take the the issue of where the night.

Citizens to be allowed to carry concealed weapons.

The rank and file cops want them to the -- does not -- the drug attitude of the same thing you talk to cops on the street may then we'll tell you this thing it's futile.

It's stupid is wasting our resource is is corrupting our criminal justice system.

When the reason so many blacks feel that they criminal justice system is racist.

It because the disproportionately large number of blacks are involved.

In the drug trade in the inner city they get busted in the and they whine about how unjust the criminal justice system this call for the youth of informants judge if you wanna make bus.

Both sides of the transaction are committing a crime the only way to solve it to get some informant to rat out of both of them in the informant office often had to own agenda -- to lie got a this whole thing is if we -- we did.

Give us gotta wanna switching gears to another -- a topic about which you have also opined.

Articulately.

Very recently -- conservatives get a fire in their belly over either Mitt Romney.

Or Newt Gingrich if one of them ends up as the Republican nominee for president next year.

Well the answer is hell yeah we can I'm I'm one of the HBO guys anybody but Obama.

Look any of these guys the likely nominee if they're gonna be Romney and and Gingrich -- we -- right now.

Any one of those guys will be better than Bob Dole or John McCain both of whom we had before.

They're both gonna try to appeal obamacare none of them is gonna raise taxes on the so called wealthy we're gonna get more justices like -- and -- Scalia and Clarence Thomas.

We're gonna have a robust aggressive fight against -- -- fascist who are threatening to kill us.

But are we going I -- gonna use a lot of you right there are we gonna have small government.

Or if all if Romney or Gingrich becomes president will you -- -- -- small government of by for the rest of our lives.

It's not -- well we will have smaller her government that it would have been had Obama been reelected judge that's all I can tell you I'm disappointed to.

I'm disappointed when we were in charge of the house.

The senate and the White House we didn't get it done I think that hurt our brand but I think now Republicans get it and he's gonna talk the talk you gotta walk the walk and I think they're ready to do it Larry -- it's a pleasure thanks for joining us --
