My administration is denying claims by the energy industry that new EPA regulations would force so many power plants to close.
That the entire system could be overwhelmed causing blackouts all over the country.
The Energy Department says it's -- church research shows that that's not gonna happen but coal power investor George -- Disagrees he says just look at what's happening already.
He joins us now what's happening already -- I've been missing these blackouts.
Really we had blackouts in taxes this year we had blackouts in the northeast just a few years back.
We already I have a system that is barely holding on and they're talking about reducing the system we have.
And you don't what caused this line in the sand.
Why now why the EPA now why why what what what of those do for our country.
Well but the bottom line has what is -- -- -- these regulatory groups that say that that these analyses are all wrong and everything.
But the regulatory groups are headed up by these academics.
That'd be the groups that are saying that we're gonna have power outages as a result of too much regulation.
Are people with their feet on the ground with 2030 years experience in energy.
Do we really want to believe the bureaucrats over these experts.
No we don't and here's the thing 50% of our power comes from coal and let's not forget that coal.
We are we we have almost 40% of the world's proven inaudible reserves right here in the United States.
So what you're talking about here is is ludicrous alright.
What this has nothing to do with making America stronger.
It has nothing to do with building jobs this will do nothing but cost every household more and what ever -- is okay what are we gonna go to natural gas.
We're gonna go -- natural gas well if you use all -- natural gas to replace 15% of the power that's being generated by coal.
The what you gonna do is have much higher prices and natural gas and what you're gonna have is a much higher priced when you go to pay your monthly bill so once again.
This is short term political thinking from the White House there's -- short term political thinking from the Democrats.
And this is being forced down America's throat with no thought to American.
Consumer who's gonna pay substantially more -- their power.
No thought to look coal industry which is more than a hundred year old industry which provides our nation would have -- power.
No thought to what we have in reserves which are 40% of the world's proven my -- reserves.
And and all of that done why why now because they just pull it out of there -- no it's an election year.
And they want to please the Green Party the Green not Green people where -- George I think there's something else going on here as well George because what's happening is you have these academics who -- This is not short term stuff that it just pull another -- they've been thinking about this in places like Harvard and MIT and Princeton for about forty years these guys just thinking in their ivory towers without having a lot of real world connection to how this would affect our energy grids and this organization the American electric reliability corporation.
That's the group that says we're gonna have these power outages they know electricity they are very well respected in the field of energy and yet the White House is saying.
Don't believe them believe are academics that's the problem and I don't think America's gonna believe the academics -- you.
No they shouldn't believe them because if you look at what's gone on we have a build nuclear power in this country for thirty years.
We -- -- -- coal power for thirty years they're telling these companies within three to four years we want you to comply with this.
You figure seven years to get a power plant -- you're not going to replace 50% of your power capacity.
What they should be looking at is a Smart grid we already have rolling blackouts blackouts have increased a 125%.
Over the last two decades.
We have not we don't not have.
And efficient system we lose about 7% of our power to our grid through -- -- -- Well and its -- gets -- supply and all that and and you cut back on that coal power plants because of the new EPA regs.
You're undoubtedly gonna have roll backs but again the American people's gonna have to choose between.
The pointy headed bureaucrats who spent the last thirty years in academia.
Or their real experts wet skin in the game and I think there the American public doesn't buy them the pointy heads anymore.
They better -- -- by the point hit because of that by the pointy heads the point is they're not gonna come and pay your monthly bill porcelain doubles for power now you know.
And if you -- -- and hardware but also on paid for by the government anyway through student loans but that's a -- other subject George -- say.
We got to leave it at that good to see -- George thanks very much have a good weekend thank you day.
